A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Executive Leadership - Financial Services CSO: Apollo Global Management has hired Nike veteran Jaycee Pribulsky as partner and chief sustainability officer (CSO).Pribulsky succeeds Dave Stangis, who will transition to a senior advisor role in 2026.

2. IBM-AWS Partnership: IBM and Amazon Web Services (AWS) expanded their partnership to accelerate cloud adoption, digital transformation and sustainable IT initiatives across the Middle East, GlobalData reported. Related: Complete IBM and Amazon sustainability strategies explained.

3. Cloud Software and Carbon Reduction: Salesforce’s new climate goals are based on cutting emissions per unit of profit, rather than absolute emissions, Trellis reported. The move is one of several tactics that fast-growing software companies are using to deal with a surge in AI-related emissions, the report said.

4. Climate Accounting and Renewable Energy Software: Green Project, backed by ACT, has launched suite50, a software suite that allows customers and their suppliers to "collaborate, act and scale measurable decarbonization." The suite support Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon accounting; renewable energy procurement and more. ACT Commodities acquired Gren Project Technologies in April 2023.

5. Data Center Contract: Elea Data Centers has won the public bid to supply a data center to Petrobras -- one of the world's largest oil and gas companies. The R$2.3 billion, 17-year contract represents the largest IT infrastructure initiative ever awarded by a Latin American company, Elea asserted. The resulting data center will leverage renewable energy, and total water reuse for cooling.

6. Consulting Services: Schneider Electric has rebanded EcoAct -- a global consulting organization -- as SE Advisory Services. The organization focuses on complex sustainability, energy, and digitalization challenges.

7. EV Chargers and Multi-Family Housing: 3V Infrastructure -- backed by Greenbacker Capital Management -- will fund, install and operate SWITCH charging infrastructure at over 60 multifamily properties across nine states. The EV infrastructure deployments require no spending by The Solomon Organization, which owns the properties.

8. Layoffs - Higher Education: University of Louisiana at Lafayette has eliminated six positions and closed its sustainability office, according to The Current. 1. Accelerator: OVHcloud has launched the Fast Forward Blockchain & Web3 Accelerator. The accelerator, spanning 16 startups, will run September through November 2025. 2. Private Equity Investment - Infrastructure Funding: Thoma Bravo has invested in SDC Capital Partners, a global digital infrastructure investment firm that has $7.8 billion of assets under management as of June 2025. Multiple SDC investments involve sustainable IT services. Through this engagement, Thoma Bravo essentially extends its focus from enterprise software to the underlying AI data center and hyperscaler market. Financial terms were not disclosed.

1. United States - Cancelled Funding: The Trump administration is cancelling nearly $8 billion in climate-related funding targeting 16 U.S. states, including California and New York, Reuters reported.

2. United States - Data Center Project: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a Request for Proposal seeking companies to build and power AI data centers at DOE’s Oak Ridge Reservation.
