A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Green IT Alliances
1. Research: The Leonardo Centre on Business for Society at Imperial College Business School, in partnership with Emeritus, have released a Chief Sustainability Officer research report.
2. Partnership - Supply Chains: OnProcess and PTC are partnering to deliver "next-generation sustainable service supply chain solutions," the two companies said.
3. ITAD Layoffs: Ingram Micro has eliminated 73 positions at its New Jersey ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) facility and converted that facility to a cross dock/hub facility, Resource Recycling reported. Overall, the Ingram Micro Lifecycle business, which provides ITAD and reverse logistics services, has 33 service centers, the report noted. Those facilities repaired and/or refurbished 9.9 million units, according to the company’s 2022 environmental, social and governance (ESG) report.
4. Solar Homes: Enphase Energy has released the Enphase IQ EV Charger in the United States and Canada. The charger is WiFi-enabled, and includes smart control and monitoring capabilities. The charger can integrate with Enphase’s solar and battery system to "help homeowners maximize electricity cost savings by charging directly from solar energy."
5. New Jersey - Solar Energy: Altus Power and Brightcore Energy have completed 19 solar arrays across New Jersey utilizing rooftops from Brennan Investment Group’s portfolio of logistics buildings. In total, the assets will represent 7.4 megawatts (MWs) of solar arrays which will be owned and operated by Altus Power. The 7.4 MWs add to Altus Power’s total of 120 MWs across New Jersey as of June 30, 2023. The Brennan assets are expected to produce clean electricity avoiding the equivalent of 5,200 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually, the companies said.
6. Solar Power Momentum: Solar power is set to dominate global electricity markets within the next few decades, Bloomberg reported, and may have already reached an “irreversible tipping point,” according to a study published this week in Nature Communications.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Energy Management Software: Aukett Swanke has acquired TR Control Solutions, a developer of energy management software and provider of energy efficiency services. The purchase price was £360,450 (US$438,000.).

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. United States - Another Carbon Capture Pipeline Delayed: Summit Carbon Solutions’ massive carbon-capture and storage pipeline across the US Corn Belt is now expected to start operating in early 2026 — a setback for a project that initially targeted next year for completion, Bloomberg reported. The delay surfaced one week after Navigator CO2 had layoffs amid its own carbon-capture and storage pipeline project.
2. European Union: Europe’s executive arm is proposing a two-year delay in implementing some ESG reporting rules, as complaints mount that businesses can’t keep up, Bloomberg reported.
3. Germany - Hydrogen Grid: Germany plans to fast-track the development of its hydrogen infrastructure as the country strives to pivot to cleaner energy, Bloomberg reported.
4. South Africa: Netherlands and Denmark have joined the Just Energy Transition Partnership, a climate finance deal meant to help South Africa transition away from coal, Bloomberg reported. The initial members of the pact — the European Union, Germany, France, the US and UK — have pledged $8.5 billion in finance, Bloomberg added.
5. Malaysia: UOB Malaysia launched the Jom Transform – Sustainability Accelerator Program (JT-SAP). The program "aims to empower Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with foundational knowledge and know-how to adopt sustainable practices and accelerate their transition to a low carbon economy," TechNode Global reported.
6. Turkey - Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Network: Siemens has won a contract for 200 electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers and digital services, Energy Portal reported. The contract involves Astor Enerji, a manufacturer of transformer and switchgear products. Astor Enerji plans to have chargers every 200 kilometers along highways and at various shopping malls in Turkey.
