1. Partnership - ESG Software and Consulting: Avetta and ReGen Strategic plan to provide customers with an end-to-end solution to "help them comply with growing sustainability regulations, map and improve supply chain sustainability and ESG performance, and deliver a positive impact for people and the planet," the two companies said.
2. Partnership - Semiconductors: NY CREATES and SEMI are partnering to promote environmentally sustainable practices within the semiconductor industry, the two organizations said.
3. Partnership - Supply Chains: Envision Energy and DHL Group are partnering to tackle Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), integrated logistics, green energy solutions, and the joint development of a Net Zero Industrial Park.
4. Partnership - Aviation and Airports: Airbus and Airports Council International (ACI) World are partnering in a bid to reduce the aviation industry’s environmental impact. Key focus areas include Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), hydrogen technologies, advanced air mobility, operations efficiency, and aircraft noise management practices, the organizations said. We don't know if the partnership involves specific target goals and deadlines.
5. Executive Leadership - Consulting: Revolt has named Kirsten Flanik as CEO of North America. This is a newly created position at Revolt, which merged with Anthesis in January 2024.
6. Leadership - Association: MEMA has named Bryan Russell as senior director of the MEMA Center for Sustainability. Russell will be responsible for "elevating the Center’s prominence, expanding current programming and increasing member engagement," After Market News reported.
7. Leadership - Clean Technologies: Cleantek Industries has hired Baker Hughes and Nine Energy Services veteran Riley Taggart as president and CEO. Taggard succeeds Matt Gowanlock, who is exiting the company.
8. Layoffs: First Mode, a Seattle-based company that’s concentrating on reducing carbon emissions in mining and other heavy industries, will have layoffs in August 2024, GeekWire reported.
9. Weather Software: A new, AI-enhanced weather simulator from Google can match the accuracy of conventional weather forecasts and can also extrapolate how much the atmosphere has warmed with climate change, Bloomberg reported.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - IT Services and Supply Chain Management: Accenture is acquiring Camelot Management Consultants, an SAP partner and technology consulting firm from Germany. Camelot, backed by roughly 700 SAP engineerings, offers supply chain, data and analytics software expertise. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Related: Accenture M&A list.
2. M&A - Waste Management: Terex plans to acquire Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) from Dover Corp. for $2 billion in cash. The deal's valuation is roughly 8.4x 2024E earnings before interest, taxes depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) including expected run-rate synergies. ESG specializes in the design and manufacturing of refuse collection vehicles, waste compaction equipment, and associated parts and digital solutions, the buyer said.

1. COP29: Azerbaijan has invited Armenia to COP29, The National News reported. The move comes despite the countries not having formal diplomatic relations, the report noted.
2. United States - Electric Vehicles: Donald Trump can’t stop the shift to electric vehicles, ChargePoint CEO Rick Wilmer asserts.
3. United State - Climate Grants: The Biden administration announced $4.3 billion in climate-related grants for 25 projects pitched by 30 different state, local and tribal governments, Reuters reported.
4. Australia: A plan by Australia's federal opposition that would slow the roll-out of renewable power and build a network of nuclear reactors has set the scene for a divisive confrontation on climate policy ahead of an election expected in 2024, Reuters reported.
