1. IT Services - Carbon Neutral: Trustack, an IT service provider in the UK, has achieved carbon-neutral status, according to Carbon Neutral Britain.
2. Partnership - ESG Consulting: Thrive Ventures Consulting and MLW Management Consultancies have partnered to jointly offer Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) consulting services across the South-East Asian region, the two firms said.
3. Smart Phone Reseller: Currys, an online reseller, now offers the Fairphone 5 smartphone to UK customers. The sales relationship surfaced the same week that Fairphone announced a CEO transition to Raymond van Eck from Reinier Hendriks,Â
4. Solar Layoffs: The SunPower bankruptcy also involves layoffs, SiliconValley.com reported.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Startup Investments - Clean Fuel Challenges: Multiple clean fuel startups are collapsing or struggling to bring their hydrogen and biofuel products to market, The Wall Street Journal reported. Industries such as aviation and shipping are counting on the new fuels because wind, solar power and batteries can't meet their energy needs, the report said.
2. M&A - Data Center Infrastructure: AMD plans to acquire ZT Systems, a provider of AI infrastructure for the world’s largest hyperscale computing companies, for roughly $4.9 billion. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025. Poke around the ZT Systems website, and you'll notice that the company has e-waste reduction strategies in place.
3. M&A - Circular Economy: Reconomy has acquired Vermilion Holdings of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Vermilion, founded in 1976, specializes in take-back of post-consumer products for reuse, recycling and secure disposition. This is Reconomy's second U.S.-focused acquisition in recent weeks. The other involved buying Lincoln Waste Solutions, a waste and recycling management consulting firm in Windsor, Connecticut. Financial terms of each deal were not disclosed.
4. M&A - Solar Power: NextEnergy Capital will acquire 12 solar power projects in Spain with an overall capacity of 248 megawatts (MW) and eyes more opportunities in the country, Reuters reported.
5. M&A - Private Equity and Waste Management: EQT has acquired KJ Environment from Genesis Private Equity. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but sources told PE Insights KJ has an enterprise value of roughly US$733 million. EQT plans to establish a "waste treatment platform focused on plastic recycling and waste-to-energy in South Korea." Translation: EQT will acquire and tuck more businesses into KJ Environment. The deal surfaced a few days after EQT acquired AMCS, a provider of SaaS-based applications that help customers with their waste management, recycling and sustainability strategies.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. United States - Net Zero Business Strategies: Roughly 80% of U.S. companies that have revenues exceeding $500 million are proactively building net-zero programs, an EcoOnline survey found.
2. Latin America - Data Centers: Scala Data Centers, a sustainable data center provider in Latin America, has inaugurated Phase 2 of its Tamboré Campus. Scala has spent more than US$1.82 billion building that particular data center campus, the company said.
