2. Talent - Consulting and Software:  WAP Sustainability, a software and consulting firm, has hired Bryan Sheehan as managing director of ESG and carbon strategies.
3. Energy Storage: COP29 will propose a target to increase worldwide energy storage capacity more than sixfold to 1,500 GW by 2030. ETN reported. To achieve this, the world would need to add ~158 GW of energy storage capacity each year.
4. AI Lawsuit: Gemini Data, a small AI company, has filed suit against Google, Reuters reported, claiming the search giant allegedly violated trademark rights to the Gemini name.

1. AI Accelerator: Amazon has selected 80 startups for the 2024 AWS Generative AI Accelerator. Participants include Unravel Carbon (a carbon management software platform) and Multiverse Computing (quantum algorithms that energy efficiency and sustainability of GenAI).
2. Private Equity: Insight Partners is on the verge of closing a new $10 billion-plus fund, roughly half of the amount it had originally targeted but a sign that technology investors are cautiously returning to a venture market that has been battered over the past two years, Financial Times reported.
3. OpenAI - Potential Funding Stipulations:Â OpenAI's new financing round is expected to come in the form of convertible notes, according to sources with direct knowledge of the matter, who said its $150 billion valuation will be contingent on whether the ChatGPT-maker can upend its corporate structure and remove a profit cap for investors, Reuters reported.
4. Reverse Stock Split: Nuvve, a green energy technology company that enables EV batteries to store and resell unused energy back to the local electric grid, will implement a 1-for-10 reverse stock split after U.S. markets close on September 16, 2024.

1. COP29: The first official Green Zone partners of COP29 in Azerbaijan have been announced. These include Azerbaijani businesses SOCAR Green as the Energy Transition Partner, PASHA Holding as the Impact Partner and Azersun Holding as the Sustainable Growth Partner, according to the Azerbaijan State News Agency.
2. United States - SEC Disbands ESG Group: The SEC has quietly disbanded a group of enforcement lawyers who helped bring litigation fighting misleading environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosures for more than three years, Bloomberg Law reported.
