1. Research - Supply Chain Sustainability: Companies with the most mature supply chains are 23% more profitable than their peers, Accenture research found. The most advanced supply chains address efficiency, agility, sustainability and resilience, the data suggested.
2. Board of Directors: Hitachi Energy has named CSO Lorena Dellagiovanna to its board.
3. Partnership - Battery Technologies: Sakuu and SK On are partnering to "advance next generation battery manufacturing innovation," including the "industrialization of the dry process Kavian platform." The resulting technology will "enable cost-effective, higher performance batteries that are also environmentally-friendly," the companies said.
4. AI: IBM has launched a Generative AI Innovation Center in Kochi, India. The center will enable enterprises, startups and partners to build Gen AI technology, IBM said.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Incubator: Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is now a Terawatt Partner for Greentown Labs, a climate tech incubator. The partnership surfaces roughly three months after Greentown Labs layoffs impacted 30% of its staff. BCG has helped the incubator to "refresh its mission, vision, and strategy" this year, Greentown Labs said.
2. For Sale? Private equity firms may be seeking to sell multiple waste management and environmental service providers, PE Hub reported. Companies that may come to market soon include American AllWaste, Liquid Environmental Solutions and Wind River Environmental, the report said.
3. Funding - Private Equity: Nuveen has raised $200 million for a second private equity fund focused on global climate inclusion.
4. SPAC IPO: Dynamix Corp, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), is pursuing a $150 million IPO, Renaissance Capital reported. Armed with the money, Dynamix will seek to acquire energy-focused companies that support transitions to a low-carbon future.
5. M&A - ESG Considerations: Fully 80% of UK companies now prioritize ESG due diligence as part of their M&A negotiations, KPMG reported.
6. M&A - Self-Sustained Communities: Autris has acquired EcoVillage Design and Veritas Village Holdings Panama. Autris specializes in residential community development in Latin America. Financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
7. M&A - Environmental Consulting: Montrose Environmental Group has acquired Spirit Environmental, a provider of air permitting and compliance services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
8. M&A - Renewable Energy: Virginia Electric and Power Company, a subsidiary of Dominion Energy, is acquiring various offshore wind developments from Avangrid for approximately $160 million.
9. M&A - Hardware: i3-Technologies has acquired CTOUCH, a developer of "sustainable touchscreen technologies." Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

1. United States - EV Battery Loan: The Biden administration is poised to lend $1.2 billion to Entek Lithium Separators to help expand the US supply chain for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles, Bloomberg reported.
2. United States - Hurricane Beryl & Houston Power Outages: Houston is set for a dangerous bout of heat as more than 2 million homes and businesses remain without power in the area around the nation’s fourth-largest city after Hurricane Beryl’s battering, Bloomberg reported.
3. Singapore - Climate Change Disclosures: Fully 96% of Singapore-listed companies commenced climate-related reporting efforts in 2023, up from 65% in 2022, EY reported.
