1. Financial Services & IT Consulting: Intesa Sanpaolo, one of Italy's oldest banks, worked with NTT Data to develop a decarbonization roadmap for the financial services firm.
2. Partnership - Cloud Services and IT Consulting: Global IT consulting firm Accenture and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are helping customers to gather and manage their ESG data. The partnership involves AWS Sustainability Data Fabric (SDF), a framework that "enables faster and more accurate sustainability insights," the two companies assert.
3. Home Energy Management: Eaton has announced AbleEdge -- a home energy management system that can "simplify a safe energy transition," the company said.
4. Two Carbon Marketplaces Shut Down: Nori is the second carbon marketplace to shut down in recent months. The other shutdown involved Running Tide in June 2024. Generally speaking, the Running Tide shutdown involved "lack of demand for the company’s credits on the voluntary carbon markets," according to the Portland Press Herald.
5. EV Charger Limitations: At U.S. public stations promising charging speeds of 100 kW or higher, the average delivered EV charge was only 52 kW in 2022, according to Stable Auto, which helps networks decide where to build new infrastructure, Bloomberg reported. That disconnect — largely a reflection of battery power’s idiosyncrasies — is leaving many U.S. drivers guessing as to when, why and by how much their charge is being throttled, the report said.
6. Mobile Devices: Fairphone has released a lower-cost version of its Fairphone 5 smartphone. The new offering surfaces amid Fairphone's CEO transition to Raymond van Eck from Reinier Hendriks.

3. Sustainable Mobility: The Company Lab (CO.LAB) and TennSMART announced four winners of the Sustainable Mobility Reverse Pitch Challenge. The honorees included:
- BrdgTRK (Chattanooga, TN): Provides a cloud-based hardware solution that gives users end-to-end visibility of shipping goods in real time.
- Ganaio (El Cajon, CA): Developer of a patented hardware solution that extends the driving range of electric vehicles.
- Minco Technology Labs (Austin, TX): Provides flexible fuel cell propulsion that has a lower cost of ownership than legacy propulsion systems.
- Naycel (Lake Mary, FL): Decarbonizes the battery supply chain by converting carbon gas into responsibly manufactured critical battery graphite materials.

1. United States - Wind Farm: The Biden administration approved plans for a 2-gigawatt wind farm in waters near Maryland’s coast, marking the 10th commercial-scale offshore turbine project to win the US government’s authorization, Bloomberg reported.
2. United States and China: The two countries still have "some differences" on issues such as climate finance but have made progress in narrowing them during talks this week, U.S. climate envoy John Podesta said in Beijing, Reuters reported.
3. United States - Trump's Plan: Former U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to rescind unspent funding from Democrats’ signature climate law in the most definitive remarks yet on his intentions for the Inflation Reduction Act, Bloomberg reported.
4. Germany - Carbon Credit Fraud?: Germany's Environment Agency rejected carbon credits for 215,000 tons of CO2 emissions from oil companies due to suspected fraud involving climate projects in China, Reuters reported.
