A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Green IT Alliances
1. CEO Priorities: Over half (54%) of CEOs now prioritize sustainability more than they did a year ago, an EY quarterly survey found.
2. Cloud Services: Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods), which supports 4 billion customers worldwide, has selected multiple SAP cloud services to "drive further growth and competitive advantage and to ensure the sustainability of its products for the future," the companies said. Key deployments include RISE with SAP, SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, and SAP Sustainability Control Tower solutions. SAP EHS Management also is in the mix. CP Foods is seeking to reduce 42% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 30.3% of Scope 3 emissions by 2030 – and 90% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 72% of Scope 3 emissions by 2050, the company said.
3. Partnership: Silicon Ranch and Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) are partnering on a massive solar project in Tennessee.
4. Partnership: ERM, Salesforce, NatureMetrics and Planet have launched The NatureTech Alliance to "transform how corporations measure and manage their biodiversity impact."
5. Research - Supply Chain Spending and Investment Priorities: Â For 48% of global organizations focused on supply chain enhancements, sustainability is the key area of investment, followed by AI-based technology (41%), developing new strategy (40%), additional workforce (39%), and digital transformation (37%), a BlueYonder survey found.
6. Law Firm: Global law firm Dentons has launched a project aimed at improving the performance of its offices in Italy in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency, and the wellbeing of lawyers and employees, the law firm said.

United States - Energy Grid Modernization: U.S. regulators finalized rules designed to speed up building the power grid of the future, Bloomberg reported. approving the biggest reforms in at least a decade to enable the energy transition, meet soaring demand and offer protection from extreme weather.
2. United States - Ithaca, New York: In 2019, Ithaca passed a Green New Deal resolution, becoming the first city in the country to commit to removing fossil fuels from all buildings within a decade. That effort has lagged behind its target, though it's now picking up steam, NPR reported.
3. European Union - Green Washing Regulations: The European Union's securities watchdog confirmed final guidelines on when investment funds can label themselves as being 'sustainable' without being accused of greenwashing, Reuters reported.
4. Singapore - Data Center Strategies: Data centre operators in Singapore that are looking to go greener want more clarity on a roadmap to help them reduce energy consumption, Channel News Asia reported.
5. India - AI and Sustainability: While 86% of organizations in India recognize the significance of sustainability in shaping business strategies, only 16% have prioritized sustainability goals and built them on real facts and data, a Kyndryl and Microsoft survey found. Moreover: 79% of organizations use AI to monitor energy usage and emissions, but only 20% use it to predict future energy consumption, 26% for predicting and preparing for natural disasters, 26% to recognize inefficiencies and 28% to identify risks.
