A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Green IT Alliances
1. ISSB Guidance: The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has published the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy (ISSB Taxonomy). The taxonomy is designed to "enable investors and other capital providers to analyse sustainability-related financial disclosures efficiently."
2. HP Partner Program: The company, as expected, has expanded the HP Amplify Impact partner program to include distribution partners and various firms across 48 countries. The program, launched in 2021, is designed to help partners with Climate Action, Human Rights, and Digital Equity. Nearly 50% of program participants have won a new customer in the last 12 months due to participation in the program, HP said. Related: HP's sustainability strategy and related partner opportunities.
3. Partners of the Year: Schneider Electric has announced the winners of its second annual Sustainability Impact Awards. Dig into the awards, and you can see global, regional and country winners spanning AI system integrators, IT solutions providers and overall systems integrators.
4. Partnership - EV Battery Recycling: Nissan and Ecobat Solutions UK are partnering to give used EV batteries new life in the United Kingdom.
5. Managed Services and EV Fleet Management: Siemens has launched Depot360 Managed Services and Charging as a Service capabilities in Canada. The services also are rolling out in the United States, Germany, France, UK, Sweden and Norway. Key partners include Geotab, a provider of fleet management performance data.
6. Software - Automated Infrastructure Inspections: GE Vernova has launched Autonomous Inspection, a cloud-based computer vision software solution. The software, which leverages AI and machine learning, can help users to inspect and monitor energy infrastructure and more.
7. Conference Partnership: Canada will be the partner country for Hannover Messe 2025, a major industrial automation conference in Germany that includes AI and sustainability content. Here's what happened at Hannover Messe 2024.
8. Renewable Energy - Revenues and Debt: Sunnova revenue was $160.9 million in Q1 of 2024, down $800,000 from Q1 of 2023. Net loss was $90.1 million, down from $110.3 million in Q1 of 2023. Sunnova is wrestling with upcoming debt issues, Bloomberg reported. The overall solar energy market continue to grow, but multiple companies are struggling with revenue challenges amid shifting regulations and intense international competition.
9. Startup - Geothermal Energy: A pal from high school told me to check out Quaise -- a startup focused on deep geothermal energy. The business thesis: A deep geothermal power plant can "create 10x more energy than conventional geothermal resources, provide 24/7 baseload power, and unlock near-universal access to clean energy on a small land footprint," Quaise asserts. Some venture capitalists have embraced the thesis. Indeed, Quaise raised $21 million in series A funding in March 2024. Prelude Ventures and Safar Partners led the round. We'll be watching to see if Quaise launches a partner program.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Consultancy: Stok has acquired EcoAmmo, a Canadian sustainability consultancy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Stok's expertise spans ESG and sustainability consulting, carbon, energy engineering, commissioning, and project delivery.
2. M&A - Property and Building Expertise: WSP has acquired AKG Group, a specialized mechanical, electrical, and plumbing firm that designs healthcare, science and technology, and mission-critical facilities. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
3. M&A - Environmental Consulting: Private equity firm Goldman Sachs Alternatives has acquired Adler & Allan, a provider of environmental risk reduction and advisory services. The seller was Sun European Partners. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. European Union - CSRD Delay: The EU has voted to delay various CSRD reporting standards until June 30, 2026.
2. United States - AI and Risk Management: The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has promoted Ted Kaouk to the chief data and artificial intelligence officer role, The Wall Street Journal reported.
3. United States - New York EV Charging Infrastructure: New York has selected Blink Charging as an official EV charging provider for the state. The engagement includes Level 2 and DC fast chargers. Related services incoude site assessment and preparation, installation, maintenance, repair, parts and supplies, warranties, and product training. Blink will also provide EV charging network services related to the management of EVs, including monitoring, reporting, billing, and support. Still, rollout details -- network size, target activation dates, etc. -- were not disclosed.
