Here are three things to know about Malakar's expertise and role, and V2X's business focus and sustainability strategy.

1. Business Scope and Scale: V2X was formed in 2022 through the merger of Vectrus and Vertex. The company offers operations and logistics, aerospace, training, and technology solutions for national security, defense, civilian and international clients.V2X has roughly 16,000 employees. Revenue was $1.07 billion in Q2 of 2024, up 10% compared to Q2 of 2023. V2X is based in McLean, Virginia.

2. Sustainability Strategy:  V2X is "committed to minimizing waste, reducing energy consumption, decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, and conserving natural resources," according to the company website. We don't know if the company has set specific Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 reduction targets.

3. Executive Experience: Malakar joined V2X as deputy general counsel in July 2022. In that role, she was responsible for securities, corporate governance and corporate law compliance at V2X, including supporting board matters and subsidiary governance matters. With that track record in mind, Malakar brings a "strong legal background and governance expertise to her new role," V2X said.

Chief Sustainability Officers: Why Technology Partners Should Care

By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.

The bottom line: Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill those CSO customer needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
