Synagro Technologies Inc, a provider of biosolids and residuals solutions services in North America, has named Kip Cleverley as the company's first chief sustainability officer (CSO).
Here are three things to know about the announcement:
1. Synagro's Focus: Synagro, based in Baltimore, Maryland, transforms industrial and municipal waste into environmentally-sustainable resources. The company, founded in 1986, positions itself the largest recycler of organic by-products in the United States. Synagro had 446 employees listed on LinkedIn as of April 2023. The company serves more than 600 municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities throughout the United States.
2. Who is Hip Cleverley?: He has more than 25 years of experience developing sustainability and ESG programs both nationally and internationally. Cleverley joined Synagro from International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF), where he was vice president of Global Sustainability. Prior to IFF, he led similar efforts at Benjamin Moore & Co. as well as Rockwell International.
3. What Is Synagro's Sustainability Strategy?: Details are outlined here.
4. Bonus - Why Technology Partners Should Care: By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC. Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to fulfill those CSOs needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
