1. Talent - IT Asset Disposition: Paladin EnviroTech has hired Keith Layton as senior VP of remarketing. Layton previously held key roles at SK tes, Iron Mountain, ITRenew, and HPE Financial Services. Paladin, backed by investment firm SER Capital Partners (SER) and Daeheung Recycling South Korea, launched in 2025 through two acquisitions: ITAD specialist Integrated Recycling Technologies (IRT) of Minnesota, and E-waste recycling specialist TechSmart International (TSI) of Florida. Other recent hires include Bill Vasquez as chief operating officer, and CEO Brian Diesselhorst. 

2. Consultancy Launch: Deloitte and UBS veteran Simon Heller has launched Clean Economy, a sustainability and net-zero consulting firm based in Zurich, Switzerland.

3. Workiva Amplify Conference: The Workiva Amplify 2025 conference will feature at least six content sessions focused on sustainability, according to Jon McGowan, an attorney focused on global sustainability law. The Workiva Carbon software platform is based on the  $100 million Sustain.Life acquisition from 2024. Still, less than 15% of Workiva's revenue involves sustainability, and the market has faced some geopolitical headwinds in recent months, the company noted on its July 2025 earnings call.

4. Partner - Salesforce Net Zero Cloud: Swasti Datamatrix, a cloud solutions provider in Pune, India, is starting to pitch Salesforce Net Zero Cloud expertise to customers...

5. HP Inc. - Renewable Energy Progress: PC and printer maker HP Inc. has reached 100% renewable electricity across U.S. operations, the company said during an August earnings call.

6. Nvidia - AI Chips and Energy Efficiency: Nvidia executives emphasized energy efficiency throughout the AI chip company's quarter earnings call in August. According to Nvidia CFO Colette M. Kress: "Compared to the previous Hopper generation, GB300 NVL72 AI factories promise a 10x improvement in token per watt energy efficiency, which translates to revenues as data centers are power limited." Still, the company did not mention sustainability or net-zero efforts during the earnings call.

7. OpenAI Data Centers: OpenAI is seeking to build a massive new data center in India that could mark a major step forward in Asia for its Stargate-branded artificial intelligence infrastructure push, Bloomberg reported.

8. Research - CSOs: Nearly 80% of companies that generate $500 million or more in annual revenue now employ chief sustainability officers (CSOs), according to the Forbes Research 2025 State of Sustainability Survey. The survey, conducted between January and March 2025.

9. Chief Sustainability Officer: Former Chancellor of CHA University, Choi Won-tae, was appointed as vice chairman of CHA Hospital and CHA Biotech Group and CSO of CHA Biotech, according to ChoSun Biz.

1. M&A - Battery Energy Storage Services: Van Dorp is acquiring Lyv, a startup focused on supplying batteries and energy management software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Van Dorp. is based in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. Lyv, founded in 2016, is based in Blaricum, the Netherlands.

2. AI Startup Bankruptcy: Builder.ai, once hailed as one of the most innovative artificial intelligence start-ups, has gone from a $1.5 billion valuation to bankruptcy in just a few months, SeekingAlpha reported.

1. United States - Court Ruling:  A federal judge blocked Texas from enforcing a state law restricting Glass Lewis and ISS, two of the best known proxy advisers, from advising shareholders on diversity, environmental and governance practices, Reuters reported.
