A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Energy and AI Data Centers: The AI boom requires an “all-of-the-above approach” to power and energy, Nvidia Head of Sustainability Josh Parker said during The Next 3 Billion summit, according to Semafor. Near-term, the answer often is natural gas -- but cleaner power sources will eventually stabilize energy supply and demand, Parker predicted, the report said. 2. Data Center Cooling Strategies: Accelsius has released a two-phase cooling reference design, developed in collaboration with Jacobs. The study highlights "significant cost and energy savings potential for data center operators," Accelsius. For instance, adoption of two-phase cooling across planned and under-construction Austin–San Antonio data centers could save up to $50 million annually in electricity costs -- or enough to power 330,000 homes, Accelsius added.

3. New Chief Sustainability Officer: SKF Group has named Susanne Larsson, senior VP finance and CFO, to the additional role of CSO. Former CSO Joakim Landholm shifts to senior VP commercial and operations development.

4. Green Stadiums: Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, managed by Oak View Group, has joined GOAL (Green Operations & Advanced Leadership), a sustainability-driven membership network for sports, entertainment and live event venues. Rupp Arena is based in Lexington, Kentucky.

5. Green Steel: Microsoft plans to leverage near-zero emission steel from Segra. Microsoft invested in the business in 2023. Microsoft is not a direct buyer of materials such as steel. It will work with its suppliers to receive the coils from Stegra and process the green steel into components designated for use by Microsoft's datacenter equipment suppliers, the companies said. 6. Research - Capital Spending and Carbon Reduction: Within the world's largest businesses, more than a third of all capital expenditure (36%) is now aligned to sustainability goals, Risilience research asserts.

7. Research - Green Data Center Market Growth Forecast: The green data center market will reach $155.51 billion by 2030, up from $48.26 billion in 2025, according to MarketsandMarkets. That's a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.4%, the research said. Key spending areas will include green air cooling solutions, along with software for data center infrastructure management (DCIM) and building management systems (BMS), the research said.

1. M&A - ESG Reporting Software: Connect Earth has acquired Datia, a Stockholm-based ESG reporting platform serving asset managers and financial institutions across Europe and the United States.

2. Funding - Data Centers: Nscale, an AI data center provider that blends sustainability and managed services, has raised $1.1 billion in Series B funding. It was the largest Series B in United Kingdom history, the startup asserted. Aker ASA led the round. Blue Owl Managed Funds, Dell, Fidelity Management & Research Company, G Squared, Nokia, NVIDIA, Point72 and T.Capital also participated.

1. China Part - Renewable Energy Goals: China’s struggling clean-tech giants will be reliant on market forces — not policy mandates — for growth over the next decade after President Xi Jinping announced targets for renewables and electric vehicles that the country should comfortably achieve, Bloomberg reported.

2. United States - DOGE and GSA Re-Hires: Hundreds of federal employees who lost their jobs during the Elon Musk/DOGE cost-cutting blitz are being asked to return to work, CNN reported. The General Services Administration has given the employees — who managed government workspaces — until the end of the week to accept or decline reinstatement, according to an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press.
