A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies
1. ITAD - Fast Growth Company: SmartphonesPLUS, which specializes in IT asset disposition (ITAD) and ewaste recycling, was ranked on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies for 2025. SmartphonesPLUS, founded in 2018 by Christopher Hale, is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The company's website allows customers to sell and buy used phones & electronics online.
2. Partnership - Supercomputer: Dell Technologies, The University of Texas at Austin, and NVIDIA are building a super computer for scientific research in such areas as national security, healthcare and climate science. The supercomputer, called Horizon, will become operational in 2026, the organizations said. Related: Nvidia sustainability strategy.
3. Partnership - IT Services: ERM (Environmental Resources Management) will leverage IT services and IT infrastructure from Tata Communications. The effort emphasizes energy-efficient infrastructure, cloud-first operations, hardware elimination and real-time energy insights. ERM positions itself as the world's largest pure play sustainability consultancy.
4. Partnership - Carbon Accounting Software: Symrise has launched Houston, a digital tool for measuring carbon footprints at the product and corporate level. Houston leverages CO2 AI, a sustainability management software platform that spun out of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2023. Symrise supplies ingredients for fragrances, flavors and cosmetic products.
5. Partnership - Data Center Technology: ExxonMobil’s single-phase immersion cooling fluids are now Intel Data Center Certified for use with 4th and 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors. The result is a "warranty-backed, proven approach to cooling that helps reduce power usage, lower water consumption, and extend hardware life," the two companies said.
6. Executive Exit - ClimateTech Entrepreneur: Oliver Marchand, formerly MSCI's global head of climate research, exited the organization in October 2025. He's an independent consultant at the moment.
7. Hired - Financial Services: Loan Market Association has hired UBS veteran Natalie Sinha as VP of sustainability. The LMA aims to promote liquidity, transparency, efficiency and sustainability in the loan markets. Related: List of sustainability executive moves in November 2025.
8. Executive Transition: Chart Industries CEO Jill Evanko will join Duravant as CEO in January 2025. Baker Hughes is in the process of acquiring Chart for $13.6 billion. Evanko will remain a senior advisor to Chart until Baker Hughes completes the acquisition. In the meantime, Chart intends to appoint an interim CEO from within the organization. Chart Industries positions itself as a leader in the "design, engineering, and manufacturing of process technologies and equipment for gas and liquid molecule handling for the Nexus of Clean - clean power, clean water, clean food, and clean industrials, regardless of molecule."
9. Grid Management Platform: Schneider Electric has released the One Digital Grid Platform to help "utilities modernize faster, strengthen grid resilience and reduce energy costs. The platform runs on Microsoft Azure and leverages the Azure OpenAI service.
10. Research - Green Technology Market Growth Forecast: The green technology and sustainability market will reach $74.64 billion by 2030, up from $10.32 billion in 2020, according to Allied Market Research. That's a 21.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The market definition covers such areas as by Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence & Analytics, Digital Twin, Cybersecurity, and Blockchain. It also digs into applications that address Green Building, Carbon Footprint Management, Weather Monitoring & Forecasting, Air & Water Pollution Monitoring, Forest Monitoring, Crop Monitoring, Soil Condition/Moisture Monitoring, Water Purification, and more.
11. Research - CSRD Reporting: Roughly 310 out of 1,320 companies surveyed have reported and obtained assurance over their sustainability disclosures in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for financial years beginning on or after January 1, 2024 (Wave 1), KPMG said.
12. Research - CSRD and Consulting Reports: Nearly 90% of CSRD engagements were conducted by the Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC), and more than 94% of reports provide only limited assurance, according to Sustainability Reporting Navigator. Some critics worry the Big Four will "dominate and dilute corporate sustainability audits," DeSmog alleges. Related: All sustainability research reports.

1. Funding - Circular Technology: Novo Holdings has invested in Blue Planet, a waste management firm focused on circular and technology-enabled solutions. Blue Planet operates across Southeast Asia, India, UK and New Zealand. Financial terms were not disclosed.
C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News
1. COP30: Richer nations must move faster toward net zero and do more to help developing economies meet climate targets, India’s Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said at the conference. Related: All COP30 news.
2. United States - Government EV Charging Networks: Blink Charging has been awarded a Sourcewell contract that "enables more than 50,000 government, education, and nonprofit agencies to procure Blink’s comprehensive suite of EV charging solutions through a streamlined, compliant process," the companies said.
3. United Staes - Colorado Energy Efficiency Program: The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) selected VEIC, a clean energy nonprofit, to lead a new energy efficiency incentive and advising program. The $60 million program aims to help local residents and businesses lower their energy costs. The program includes rebates and incentives on residential and commercial energy efficiency upgrades throughout the Denver area, which includes 56% of Colorado’s population, DRCOG said.
4. United States - Wisconsin Data Center Regulations: Wisconsin Democrats are responding to a blitz of data center development with a proposal seeking to minimize environmental impact and require owners to disclose information about electricity demand and water use, Politico reported.
5. Denmark - Supercomputer Partnership: Siemens Gamesa and Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI) have launched Denmark's first sovereign industrial AI program powered by the Denmark's AI supercomputer Gefion, the organizations said.
6. Indonesia: Johnson Controls and Thamrin Nine recently completed a project to power Autograph Tower -- the southern hemisphere's tallest building -- with green technology, reducing energy use by up to 30%, the two organizations said.
