1. Chief Sustainability Officer and IT Leader: Infineon Technologies has extended the contract of Elke Reichart, chief digitalization and sustainability officer (CDSO), ahead of schedule to 31 October 2030. Reichart's original contract would have expired at the end of October 2026. She remains responsible for group-wide digitalization projects, IT infrastructure and Infineon's sustainability strategy. 2. Executive Leadership - Data Centers: Elea Data Centers, a Brazilian sustainable data center provider, has hired Meta veteran Elena Winters as VP of international business.

3. Executive Leadership - Financial Services: Climate Finance Partners has hired Mark Lewis as partner and managing director, Bloomberg reported. Lewis previously chief sustainability strategist at BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he had become one of most influential analysts following markets for carbon emissions, the report said. Climate Finance Partners develops finance solutions that address climate change - including supporting the development of a global carbon price, the company asserts. Working with various partners, the business in 2020 launched the largest carbon ETF on the NYSE. That ETF tracks the global carbon markets.

4. Microsoft CEO on AI Energy Concerns: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella warned that the vast amount of energy consumed by AI could turn people against the industry — and that AI and tech companies need to earn public trust to turn things around, Politico reported. 5. AT&T Ends Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI): AT&T has become the latest company to end DEI programs as it seeks approval from the Trump administration to buy wireless spectrum assets, The Mirror reported.

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. M&A - Carbon Accounting Software: Diginex, a provider of Sustainability RegTech and Data Management solutions, has acquired PlanA.earth -- a carbon accounting and decarbonization software provider based in Berlin, Germany. Plan A, founded in 2017, raised $10 million in Series A funding in 2021 and a $27 million extension in 2023, TechCrunch reported. Plan A has roughly 1,500 customers -- including Chloé, BMW, Deutsche Bank, Visa, and Trivago. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Diginex has M&A experience. The company previously acquired Matter DK ApS -- a provider of ESG analytics software -- in October 2025. Related: List of carbon accounting software M&A deals.

2. M&A - Data Center Cooling Solutions: Trane Technologies plans to acquire the Stellar Energy Digital business, a provider of liquid-to-chip data center cooling solutions. The deal reinforces Trane's effort to be the "trusted, long-term partner for holistic and sustainable thermal management solutions,” the buyer said. Stellar Energy Digital has roughly 700 employees. The deal is expected to close in early 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed. Trane Technologies has M&A experience in the sustainable IT services market. The company in 2024 acquired BrainBox AI, which develops cloud-based technology to make commercial buildings and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems smarter, greener and more energy efficient.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. United States - Federal Policy Changes: The Energy Department will unwind a Biden-era program that promoted zero-emissions buildings, Bloomberg Law reported. Also, the Trump administration is renaming the National Renewable Energy Laboratory the National Laboratory of the Rockies, in its latest move to re-characterize federal entities associated with clean energy, Bloomberg noted.

2. Thailand Carbon Policy: Thailand’s government set out plans for new carbon taxes and an emissions trading system under the country’s first formal climate change legislation, Bloomberg reported.
