1. Refurbished Hardware: HP is expanding its portfolio of refurbished PCs and adding more devices to its HP Renew Solutions portfolio. The expanded HP Certified Refurbished PC portfolio will include:
- HP EliteDesk Mini 800 G6
- HP EliteBook 830 G8 (US only)
- HP EliteBook 840 G8
- HP EliteBook 850 G8
The devices include a standard one-year limited warranty and will now offer the option of two- or three-year Offsite Support packages. HP Certified Refurbished PCs are available direct in the United States and France, and will also be available in the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and the Netherland in April 2025, the company said.
2. Financial Services and ESG Data: Microsoft's various software tools can help financial services firms to manage their ESG data, Matthew Sekol asserts in a blog. Sekol is a "sustainability global black belt" at Microsoft, according to his LinkedIn profile.
3. EV Charger Network Expansion: EVgo plans to triple the size of its EV charging network by 2029, SeekingAlpha reported. The effort involves a loan from the U.S. Department of Energy and a partnership with General Motors (GM)
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Funding - Ocean Data Startup: Xocean has raised €115 million from S2G Ventures, Climate Investment, Morgan Stanley's 1GT fund, and an affiliate of the Crown Family's CC Industries (CCI). Xocean, founded in 2017, develops uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) that support environmental monitoring.
2. Funding - Construction Software: Tangible Materials of San Francisco has raised $3 million to help real estate developers measure, report and reduce carbon emissions in their construction projects, Axios reported.
3. M&A: SGSÂ has acquired Aster Global Environmental Solutions, a service providers that validates and verifies greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and offsets. Aster has roughly 25 employees. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
4. M&A - Energy and Utilities: Constellation Energy is negotiating to acquire Calpine for roughly $30 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported. A deal could surface sometime in January 2025, the report said. Calpine, currently owned by private equity firm Energy Capital Partners, operates 78 power facilities across the United States.

1. United States - New York Green Building Costs: New York City residents, already grappling with some of the country’s highest housing prices, face extra costs to comply with a law mandating greenhouse gas emission cuts at their buildings, Bloomberg reported.
2. United Kingdom - EV Charger Rollouts: The rollout of electric vehicle (EV) public charging devices in the UK slowed in 2024 vs. 2023, according to PA Media.
