1. AI Consulting Services: Deloitte has launched AI consulting services for CFOs. The services focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Anthropic, the generative AI startup that competes with OpenAI. Early adopters include Volkswagen Group Argentina, Deloitte said.
2. Partnership - IT Services & E-Waste Reduction: The UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has selected Atos for a five-year IT service desk contract worth £150m. Atos will partner with Circular Computing for various IT asset disposition (ITAD), reuse, repair and e-waste reduction efforts.
3. Business Expansion - Circular IT Services: The Refurb Company USA has launched operations in North America. The company "empowers ITAD professionals and refurbishers across the U.S. and Canada with high-quality refurbishing products, fast turnaround times, and exceptional customer service," a launch announcement said. Experts from IT Asset Management Group (ITAMG) of Farmingdale, New York, are involved in the launch.
4. Exit - Financial Services and Net Zero: JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s asset-management unit is quitting the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, adding to the growing number of defections from financial industry climate alliances, Bloomberg reported.
5. Partnerships - EV Charging Networks: Updates include...
- XCharge North America and Hypercharge Networks Corp. are partnering to deploy XCharge NA’s GridLink chargers in Canada.
- 3V Infrastructure, backed by Greenbacker Capital Management, will deploy EV charger infrastructure at roughly 100 multifamily properties owned by Bridge Investment Group. Moreover, Sitelogiq will oversee engineering, procurement and construction services.
- Pilot Company, General Motors and EVgo have expanded their collaborative EV charging network to reach 130 fast-charging locations in roughly 25 states, the companies said. The three companies announced their partnership in 2022 and are striving to deploy up to 2,000 fast charging stalls at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J locations.
6. Partnership - Data Center Energy Efficiency: Schneider Electric has joined EPRI's DCFlex initiative to "explore how data centers can support the electric grid, enable better asset utilization, and support energy needs in the United States and around the world," the companies said.
7. Partnership - Energy Transition and Cloud Services: Hitachi Energy and AWS are partnering to "accelerate how utility and energy-intensive companies deploy cloud-based solutions and advance the energy transition," the two companies said.
8. Grid and Energy Efficiency: Schneider Electric has launched One Digital Grid Platform, a technology platform "designed to enhance grid resiliency, reliability and efficiency," the company said.
9. Real Estate: The U.S. real state market is making progress on decarbonization and energy management initiatives, according to Measurabl research results.
10. Fire Prevention Technology: Eaton has unveiled HiZ Protect, a solution that allows electric utilities to "accurately and quickly detecting and mitigating high-impedance (HiZ) powerline faults that could potentially ignite wildfires," the company said.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Infrastructure Consulting: Tetra Tech of California has acquired Carron + Walsh, an Irish management consulting firm. Tetra Tech is a water, environment and sustainable infrastructure consulting firm with more than 30,000 employees worldwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
2. M&A - Renewable Energy: Private equity firm TPG will acquire Siemens Energy's wind turbine business in India and Sri Lanka, Reuters reported. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
3. M&A - Environmental Services: Earth Systems has acquired Spangler Environmental, an environmental and risk management consulting firm based that has offices in the Carolinas and Florida. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
4. M&A - Renewable Energy and Financial Services: JLL has acquired Javelin Capital, North America-based renewable energy investment banking firm. Javelin Capital's 16 employees, based in New York and Chicago, will join JLL as part of the Capital Markets, Americas business, led by Mark Gibson. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
5. M&A - Environmental Services: VLS Environmental Solutions has acquired Samex Environmental, a provider of hazardous waste fuel blending and recycling services. The combined company has over 1,400 employees and 50+ locations nationwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
6. M&A - Private Equity and Renewable Energy: Ardian is acquiring renewable energy power producer Akuo. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
7. M&A: Drax outbid Foresight to acquire Harmon Energy Income Trust at a valuation of BP199.9 million, Morningstar reported.
8. Financing - Data Centers: Related Cos. is seeking to raise as much as $8 billion to fund Related Digital, which will build data centers for customers, Bloomberg reported.
