December 3, 2025 by Joe Panettieri

Chief sustainability officers (CSOs) and their lieutenants remain on the move worldwide. Here's a look at key sustainability executives and their latest career moves as of December 2025. Plus, we mention a few executives who work in and around the sustainability sector -- without necessarily sitting in the office of the CSO.

Elke Reichart

5. Contract Extension - CSO and IT Leader: Infineon Technologies has extended the contract of Elke Reichart, chief digitalization and sustainability officer (CDSO), ahead of schedule to 31 October 2030. Reichart's original contract would have expired at the end of October 2026. She remains responsible for group-wide digitalization projects, IT infrastructure and Infineon's sustainability strategy.

Sara Lindstrand

4. Executive Leadership - IT Services: Circular technology solution provider Foxway is hiring AFRY veteran Sara Lindstrand as chief sustainability officer (CSO). Lindstrand will join Foxway from AFRY, where she currently serves as head of sustainability. Her move to Foxway will be effective on March 2, 2026. Foxway, founded in 2009, is based in Sweden. The company, backed by more than 1,000 employees, generates more than SEK 8.3 billion (US$877.3 million) in annual turnover.

Dorothy Maxwell

3. Head of Sustainability: BDO Ireland has hired Dorothy Maxwell as a new partner and head of sustainability to further assist customers with ESG requirements and compliance strategies.

Deepak Bharadwaj

2. Software Executive: Workiva has hired Adobe and ServiceNow veteran Deepak Bharadwaj as executive VP & chief product officer. Bharadwaj now leads Workiva’s product and UX organizations. Workiva develops software portfolio for finance, accounting, sustainability, risk and audit teams.

Alwyn Rosel

1. Accelerator - Executive Transition: IdeaSpace, a startup accelerator and early-stage venture investment arm of the MVP Group of Companies, named Alwyn Rosel as the new executive director of IdeaSpace and QBO Innovation, succeeding Jay Fajardo. IdeaSpace is based in the Philippines.

Why IT Service Providers Should Care About Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs)

By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.

Admittedly, we don't know if or how President Donald Trump's policies will pressure or reduce CSO roles in the United States. Regardless, we believe that technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill CSO needs.
