HPE, TD Synnex, Kyocera Launch Sustainability and Net-Zero Workshops for UK Customers

October 16, 2023 by Joe Panettieri

Kyocera Document Solutions UK (KDUK) and HP Enterprise (HPE) have launched net zero workshops to help customers deploy and manage sustainable IT solutions. TD Synnex, the global technology distributor, also is involved in the workshops.

The 90-minute workshops involve one-on-one meetings that can be hosted virtually, on-site at a partner or customer organization, or at an HPE or Kyocera office, the two technology companies said. It sounds like with workshops specifically target United Kingdom customers.

The workshops include three components:

  1. Discovery Process to assess a customer's current position and identify gaps or blockers in the sustainability journey.
  2. Expert Consultation featuring an HPE Master Technologist in Sustainable Transformation and a TD Synnex technology partner ecosystem expert.
  3. Access to the GreenLake Business Advisory Tool, which helps partners and customers to optimize IT infrastructure.

Clearly, TD Synnex and HPE are using the workshops to position HPE GreenLake technology for green IT and sustainability projects. And Kyocera Document Solutions UK is positioning itself as a managed IT services provider that can help customers with green IT projects and overall sustainability solutions.

Key leaders involved in the workshops include:

  • Steve Doust, group sales director, Kyocera Document Solutions UK;
  • Kevin Wragg, director of environment & quality compliance, TD Synnex; and
  • Karim Abou Zahab, master technologist, sustainable transformation, HPE.

HPE, TD Synnex and Sustainability: Additional Green IT Efforts

HPE has been pitching IT sustainability on multiple fronts in recent months. Examples include a Schneider Electric on a sustainability partnership in the Asia-Pacific region, while also previewing an HPE sustainability dashboard and SMB financing incentives for partners and customers. HPE's overall sustainability strategy is outlined here.

Meanwhile, TD Synnex also has been active on multiple fronts. The distributor launched a Sustainability Ecosystem for technology partners in April 2023. Moreover, TD Synnex in August 2023 achieved the Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialization for its business in Europe.

Finally, Kyocera Document Solutions' sustainability strategy is outlined here.

Channel Partners and Sustainability: North America Lags Europe

Generally speaking, sustainability remains a priority for many technology partners in 2023, according to a Canalys worldwide survey of 545 channel partners across 76 countries.

However, trends vary greatly from region to region. Among the regional nuances to note: 55% of North America partners and 48% of Latin America partners are not yet tracking sustainability KPIs (key performance indicators), compared to 29% in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and 34% in APAC (Asia-Pacific).
