TD Synnex Launches Sustainability Ecosystem for UK, Ireland Technology Partners
April 7, 2023 by Joe Panettieri
TD SYNNEX, the global IT distributor, is launching a Sustainability Ecosystem for technology partners in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Arete Zero Carbon, a specialized consultancy in the United Kingdom, is assisting the effort.
TD Synnex's goal is to show partners how they can "reduce their carbon footprint and develop and deliver solutions and services that will help their customers to move towards their own net zero carbon (NZC) goals," TD Synnex said in the news announcement.
Technology Partner Workshops
The ecosystem effort will involve regular face-to-face workshops to help attendees drive down their carbon impact and help customers do the same. Moreover, Arete Zero Carbon will help partners to assess their own emissions (Scope 1 and 2), and that of their supply chain (Scope 3), while providing a plan to help the technology partner achieve net zero carbon emissions.
Ahead of the ecosystem effort, Arete Zero Carbon performed an emissions assessment on TD Synnex's UK and Ireland operations. Among the recent sustainability milestones, TD Synnex:
Switched its Magna Park warehouse location to green energy and recently moved its Basingstoke offices to a building with improved energy efficiency.
The Basingstoke location has over 500 solar panels on the roof and 24 electric vehicle charging points.
TD Synnex Perspectives
In a prepared statement about the effort, Neil Cornish, ecosystems business manager, UK, TD SYNNEX, said: "Sustainability has become a crucial factor for all businesses. Our partner network already includes companies that have specific skills and capabilities in this area, such as MSPs running green data centers, partners offering sustainability analytics and reporting software, and expert consultancies. By bringing these organizations together and adding our own knowledge and services into the mix, we will accelerate understanding and enable new partnerships and solutions."
