1. Partnership - Refurbished Devices: Blancco Technology and eBay are partnering to help eBay users sell refurbished devices, Channel News reported.
2. Partnership - Hospitality: GreenStreet Global and CIRQ+ are partnering to help hotels to comply with NYC Local Law 97. The law, which activates on May 1, sets "ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency," the companies noted.
3. Amazon - Power Purchase Agreement: Amazon has signed a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with ENGIE. The deal will allow Amazon to source power from an offshore wind farm in Scotland.
4. EV Charger Rentals: Duke Energy has launched an EV charger rental program in North Carolina. The offering -- which includes hardware, warranty and maintenance. Residential options start at around $14 per month for a three-year rental term oj a Level 2 charger, which can typically fully recharge an all-electric vehicle within eight to 10 hours, Duke Energy said.
5. Video Collaboration: All Logitech video collaboration devices that run on the CollabOS operating system will now be manufactured with next-life plastics, helping enterprise customers support their sustainability objectives, the company said.
6. DERMS: Doral Energy has selected mPrest as its DERMS (distributed energy management systems) platform. Doral Energy develops and owns hundreds of renewable energy projects. Doral will leverage mDERMS to manage and optimize its distributed solar and storage assets profits.

8. Cyber Attack: Schneider Electric's Sustainability Business division suffered a cyberattack on January 17, Bleeping Computer reported. Hackers have frequently targeted Schneider Electric's OT and IoT infrastructure over the years, according to SC Media reports.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Accelerator - Tampa Bay Innovation Center: The ClimateTech and Sustainability Startup Accelerator is accepting applications for Q1 of 2024.
2. Joint Venture: Montana Technologies and GE Vernova are lunching a joint venture to "manufacture transformational air conditioning and atmospheric water harvesting products," the two companies said. Timing and financial terms of the joint venture were not disclosed.
3. M&A - Potential Exit: Johnson Controls is exploring "strategic alternatives" for the company's "non-commercial" businesses," CEO George Oliver said. The statement arrived after reports that Johnson Controls is seeking to sell off certain HVAC business operations for roughly $5 billion. The chatter reinforces Johnson Controls' continued strategic focus on OpenBlue, a software platform for "smart buildings that are secure, healthy and sustainable," Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
4. M&A - Consulting: Ankura Consulting Group has acquired Lumeri, a strategic business consulting firm that has sustainability expertise.
5. M&A - Battery Technology: LionVolt of the Netherlands has acquired AMTE Power's Scotland business, Scottish Financial News reported. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
6. M&A - Renewable Energy: Qualitas Energy, an investment firm based in Madrid, Spain, has acquired three companies so far in 2024. The acquired businesses include a:
- 55% stake in the project rights for the re-powering of a wind farm in Eastern Germany. The seller was European Energy, a Danish renewable energy company.
- Wind energy project pipeline with a total capacity of 96 MW in Germany. The deal involves four wind projects located in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, Germany.
- Solar PV and storage assets business in North Carolina. The deal involves Heelstone Renewable Energy. Ares Management was the seller.
- Financial terms of each deal were not disclosed.
7. M&A - Private Equity and Solar Solutions: Trilantic Europe has acquired a 60% stake in Aerocompact Group, a supplier of solar mounting solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

1. Global Spending - Clean Energy Transition: Global spending on the clean energy transition hit record highs as the world moves to rein in climate change, but it’s still not enough to get on track to net-zero emissions, Bloomberg reported. Total spending surged 17% last year to $1.8 trillion, according to BloombergNEF.
2. United States - Texas and Financial Services: Texas has banned Barclays from participating as an underwriter in Texas’ municipal bond market, following the bank's failure to respond to requests for information over its ESG policies, ESG Today reported.
