A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Data Centers - Net Zero Goal: STACK has committed to achieving net-zero GHG emissions across our operations and value chain by 2050, with interim decarbonization targets set for 2034, the data center and IT infrastructure provider reiterated in its 2025 impact report.

2. Research - Supply Chain Perspectives: Sustainability has become a bottom-of-the-list priority for U.S. logistics providers, with as few as 7% of companies citing environmental initiatives as a primary focus in 2025, Supply Chain Brain reported based on a Tech.co survey.

3. Partnership - Nuclear-Powered Data Centers: Blykalla, evroc, and Studsvik are partnering to explore the development of Sweden’s first nuclear-powered data centers, the organizations said.

4. Executive Leadership: Sustainability consulting firm Anthesis Group has hired TMF Group veteran Sajith Chakkingal as group chief technology officer (CTO). 

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. Investment - Liquid Cooling Technology: Johnson Controls has invested in Accelsius, a developer of two-phase, direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology for data centers. Exact dollar figures were not disclosed, but Johnson Controls said the investment involved a multi-million dollar deal. Innventure launched Accelsius in 2002.

2. Funding - Venture Capital: Resolution Investors LLP, which is run by former executives from Al Gore’s Generation Investment Management, unveiled a global equity fund focused on climate strategies and targeting $1 billion of assets in the coming years, Bloomberg reported.

3. Funding - ESG Data Startup: Sunhat, an ESG software startup, has raised €9.2 million in Series A funding. CommerzVentures led the round. Existing investors Capnamic, EnBW New Ventures, xdeck, and WEPA Ventures also participated. Valuation terms were not disclosed.

4. M&A - ESG Data Management: Diginex has acquired data expert Matter from Nasdaq, which will remain a minority owner in the business. Diginex gains ESG data benchmarking, reporting, and AI-driven analytics expertise. The proposed deal was announced in May 2025.

5. M&A - Supply Chain Software: Spend management software provider Coupa, backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, has acquired supply chain platform specialist Scoutbee. The Scoutbee platform helps buyers and suppliers find each other faster. Users get "instant access to vetted suppliers across categories, regions, and ESG criteria," according to Scoutbee. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Thoma Bravo acquired Coupa for $8 billion in 2023. Scoutbee, founded in 2015, raised $76 million through 2020 or so.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. United States - Renewable Energy Market Growth Forecast: The International Energy Agency slashed in half its forecast of US renewable energy growth by 2030, even as the rest of the world races to double its green power capacity over the same period, Bloomberg reported.

2. United States - Renewable Energy Lawsuit: A group of labor unions, nonprofits and solar companies sued the Trump administration over its cancellation of a $7 billion Biden-era grant program that aimed to expand solar energy to low-income communities, Reuters reported.

3. European Union: The European Union will double down on its support for reforming global development banks to do more to fight climate change, a draft EU document showed, a stance that puts Brussels at odds with the U.S. ahead of World Bank and IMF meetings, Reuters reported.
