1. Sustainability Software - CEO Transition: Diginex announced a CEO shift in order to accelerate international expansion and acquisitions. Plan A founder Lubomila Jordanova succeeds Mark Blick as Diginex CEO, effective immediately. Blick now is a strategic advisor to the business. Diginex acquired Plan A in 2025. The CEO change comes amid rapid M&A activity across the carbon accounting software market.
2. Cloud Services and Energy Transition: Snowflake, the massive cloud data management company, has launched Energy Solutions to , uniting Snowflake’s governance capabilities, partner-developed solutions, and industry-critical datasets into a single offering tailored for the energy sector. Snowflake Energy Solutions enable power, utilities, and oil and gas companies to build a trusted data foundation for AI by securely connecting data across IT, OT, and IoT systems to modernize infrastructure, improve efficiency, and accelerate progress toward a more reliable and lower-carbon future.
3. IT and Energy Alliance: Keep an eye on the new Green Industrial Grids Association (GIGA) -- which "advocates for stronger, smarter and cleaner electricity grids that are essential to Europe’s future," the organization said. Key participants include Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Hitachi and Siemens Energy, among others.
4. Sustainable AI Guidance: Techbuyer, a supplier of sustainable IT solutions based in Harrogate North Yorkshire, has released a white paper that "outlines how organizations can adopt AI responsibly while meeting rising energy, ESG, and regulatory demands."
5. Carbon Accounting App Launch: A new Celonis PCF App "moves carbon accounting beyond manual, one-off reports into a dynamic, continuous process, leveraging a company’s enterprise data across the entire product lifecycle," the company said.
6. IT Services and Renewable Energy: ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) has selected BOSLAN -- an Accenture subsidiary specializing in infrastructure and capital projects -- to support manufacturing for an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
7. IT Services: NTT Data predicts the IT market will shift toward "informed Infrastructure" -- which will "optimize performance, anticipate demand and balance agility, cost, control and sustainability in real time."
8. Small and Midsize Business (SMB) Strategies: Sustainability for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) is difficult but not impossible, according to PwC.
9. AI Assistant: Samjong KPMG of South Korea has built an ESG Reporting Assistant that leverages generative AI technology. The assistant "systematically compares and analyzes ESG disclosure examples by corporations and industry" and helps to accelerate the preparation of sustainability reports.
10. Partnership - AI for Financial Services: ERM and Auquan are partnering to deploy AI agents across sustainability workflows for financial institutions. ERM will leverage Auquan’s Sustainability Agent to "enhance the speed, scale and depth of sustainability insights it delivers to clients," the companies said.
11. Market Shifts: ERM identified four ways the sustainability market is changing in 2026.
12. Data Center: atNorth announced plans to build an eleventh data center in Stockholm, Sweden. The company focuses strongly on sustainable IT infrastructure.
13. Cloud Software: Oracle has met or exceeded all of its 2025 sustainability goals, according to Scott Twaddle, senior VP, OCI and chief sustainability officer.
14. Financial Services: Suez Canal Bank has joined the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), a global initiative that spans more than 700 financial institutions across six continents. PCAF seeks to standardize the "measurement and disclosure of financed emissions arising from lending and investment activities."
15. Rebrand - Consulting: Weild Climate Markets, an affiliate of Weild & Co., has rebranded as Weild Sustainability Partners (WSP). The change reflects "the expansion of its advisory work beyond a single thematic category and into a broader range of sustainable growth sectors," the company said.
B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches
1. M&A - Consulting and Fashion: Bureau Veritas has acquired SPIN360, an Italian consulting firm specialized in sustainable innovation and development for premium fashion and luxury brands. SPIN360 provides technical advisory services covering LCA, life cycle costing, environmental product declarations, carbon footprint, supply chain engagement and monitoring, and ESG reporting. In 2024, the acquired business generated roughly €4 million in revenue. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
2. Funding: 2150, a venture capital firm, has raised €210 million (USD$249 million) for its second fund -- which targets sustainability, climate tech and urban technology startups.
3. Investment: Google has invested in Redwood Materials, a battery recycling and energy storage company led by Tesla co-founder JB Straubel. Redwood raised $425 million from multiple investors in its Series E round.

1. United States - EV Charger Networks: U.S. EV charging networks added about 11,300 ultra-fast cords last year, up 48% from 2024, according to Paren, a data platform focused on EV infrastructure.
