1. Panel Experts Wanted: Carbon Measures, a global coalition formed in early October 2025, plans to form an independent expert panel "that will work to develop the guidelines and implementation steps to establish a global carbon emissions accounting system based on financial accounting principles," the organization said. Carbon Measures CEO Amy Brachio and University of Oxford Professor Karthik Ramanna will co-chair the panel. S&P Global Commodity Insights will serve as the panel's independent knowledge partner. In the coming weeks, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) will launch a call for interest to be considered as expert panel members, advisory board members and knowledge partners.

3. Talent: Schneider Electric has named Joon Tan as VP of human resources strategy, innovation, communications and sustainability. 4. Research - Carbon Reduction Market Forecast: Global emissions of greenhouse gases are expected to fall by about 10% by 2035, compared with 1990 levels, representing the first decline ever forecast by the United Nations, Bloomberg reported. Related: All sustainability market research reports.
5. AI Energy Consumption: Researchers at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering in California have developed a generative AI system for creating images that uses considerably less energy and processing requirements than other current technologies, Sustainability Online reported.
6. Pivot: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates thinks climate change is a serious problem but it won't be the end of civilization, the Associated Press reported. Indeed, Gates thinks scientific innovation will curb it, and it’s instead time for a “strategic pivot” in the global climate fight: From focusing on limiting rising temperatures to fighting poverty and preventing disease, the report said.

2. Fund Formed: Breakwall Capital LP has raised $125 million for the Breakwall Energy Credit (PEC) Partners Fund. The fund will focus on energy infrastructure, infrastructure services, and energy transition subsectors.

1. Canada - Lawsuit: A group of young people sued the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, alleging the the pension fund is putting their benefits in jeopardy by mismanaging climate-related financial risks, Bloomberg reported.
2. United Kingdom - Offshore Wind Power: The UK will allocate £900 million ($1.2 billion) in subsidies for traditional offshore wind projects in a late 2025 auction , a cost that will be added to consumers bills amid growing political backlash, Bloomberg reported.
3. Australia - Net Zero Pushback: Internal pressure within Australia’s conservative opposition coalition to drop net-zero emissions targets intensified as two key figures stepped up their attacks on the climate goals Bloomberg reported.
4. India - Coal Power Debate: India may be ready to replace some of the country’s oldest and most polluting coal-fired power plants by 2030 amid the shift to renewable energy, Tata Power CEO Praveer Sinha told Bloomberg.
5. Singapore - Renewable Energy and Data Center Strategy: Singapore will allocate more land on its manufacturing hub, Jurong Island, for renewable energy facilities and a data centre park, the Singapore Economic Development Board and developer JTC Corporation said, according to Reuters.
6. China - Nuclear Research: China is investing more in fusion “than the rest of the world put together, times two,” Bill Gates asserted, according to Bloomberg.
