A. Sustainable IT, Talent, Partnerships and Green Tech Alliances
1. AI Servers & Emissions Reporting: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has shipped its first NVIDIA Blackwell family-based solution, the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72. This rack-scale system is "designed to help service providers and large enterprises quickly deploy very large, complex AI clusters with advanced, direct liquid cooling solutions to optimize efficiency and performance," HPE said. HPE also is promoting sustainability services for the servers. The effort includes energy and emissions reporting, sustainability workshops, and resource monitoring to reduce environmental impact.
2. ESG Software and Generative AI Capabilities: Diginex plans to enhance its ESG software platform with OpenAI capabilities. The initial focus will target sustainability disclosure requirements set by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said.
3. Partnership - IT Consulting and ESG Software: Ramboll and IBM are "pooling their consulting and software expertise to help clients meet their sustainability targets and effectively report on their corporate and supply chain greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions," the two companies said. The effort involves Ramboll deploying IBM Envizi ESG Suite for customers. Ramboll, a consulting company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, helps customers to "set and implement sustainability strategies and climate transition plans, in compliance with global and European ESG regulation and requirements."
4. Partnership - Professional Services and AI Software: WSP and Microsoft are partnering to drive digital transformation projects for Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) customers.
5. Microsoft: In a blog, Microsoft Chief Sustainability Officer Melanie Nakagawa described various sustainability milestones and challenges at the cloud software giant.Â
6. IT Distribution and ESG Data: Westcon-Comstor has agreed to share details of its emissions and other environmental impacts with CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project),a global non-profit that runs an independent environmental disclosure system.
7. Research: Fully 45% of U.S. public companies in major industries are developing or selling climate solutions, Harvard Research found. The research was conducted before President Trump returned to the White House for this second term.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Fund Evolutions: Roughly 72 investment funds have dropped 'ESG' and 'sustainable' from their descriptors over the past six months, CityWire reported.
2. Accelerator Evolves: PSA International has rebranded PSA unboXed, a startup accelerator platform, as PSA Ventures. The PSA Ventures will broaden its focus beyond startups to include "like-minded organizations and research institutions." The evolution into PSA Ventures will "further solidify PSA’s commitment to driving growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability across global port and supply chain operations.
C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. United States - San Antonio, Texas, Renewable Energy: The City of San Antonio is installing rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar canopy shade structures at various City-owned facilities. The $30 million effort will move San Antonio "closer to its 2040 goal of achieving zero net energy for all municipal buildings," the city said.
2. International Partnership - Small Modular Reactors (SMRs): India and France plan to work together on developing small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs), the Saudi Gazette reported.
