A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Alliances

1. Annual ESG Reports: Our global database of annual sustainability and ESG reports now spans 290 companies. The latest additions are:

2. Chief Sustainability Officers: Our database of chief sustainability officers now spans 335 CSOs. The latest addition is Ewan Andrew, president, global supply & procurement and chief sustainability officer, Diageo.

3. Data Centers Partnership: Start Campus will leverage sustainable water cooling from Nautilus Data Technologies and IT monitoring services from Kyndryl for a massive, sustainable hyperscale data center project in Europe.

4. Sustainability App: Keep an eye on Viro, an app that "inspires sustainability" through gamification for consumers and businesses.

5. Climate Risk App: AISIX Solutions plans to launch a climate risk app on the Apple App and Google Store for North American consumers. We don't know pricing or target availability plans.

6. IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) - Business Expansion: ERI plans to open three larger ITAD (IT asset disposition) and e-waste recycling centers in 2024 -- while also closing its smallest facility in Aurora, Colorado. Ahead of those moves, ERI opened a new recycling facility in Goodyear, Arizona (near Phoenix)

7. Carbon Capture Contract: Microsoft has signed a long term contract to purchase up to 315,000 metric tons of CO2 removal over a multi-year period from Heirloom. This is one of the world's largest carbon dioxide removal deals to-date, the two companies said.

8. Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Contract: Utah has selected Blink Charging as a "State Contract Awardee" that prioritizes Blink products and services for government, non-profit, K-12, and higher education agencies in Utah. Early adopters include Salt Lake City International Airport, which has already deployed 10 of Blink's chargers.

9. Training - Sustainable Supply Chains: Diageo is launching a Sustainable Supply Chain Programme -- which will "help diverse-owned businesses learn more about environmentally sustainable practices and encourage them to implement these practices into their own operations," the company said.

10. Solar Energy - Strong Customer Demand: First Solar's capacity is sold out through 2026, the company said during an analyst day, according to Bloomberg Radio.

11. COP28: The conference will include a Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum (BPCF) on December 1 and 2. The CEO-level forum will "mobilize global business leaders and philanthropists to progress action in line with the COP28 Presidential Action Agenda." B. Sustainability M&A, Investments and Funding

1. M&A - Associations: The National Retail Federation (NRF) acquired the Reverse Logistics Association (RLA) -- a global trade group for the product returns and reverse logistics industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News

1. United States - Texas Solar Eclipse vs. Solar Power: A solar eclipse in October could slash solar energy output and create an unprecedented test for the embattled grid, Bloomberg reported.

2. United States - Clean Energy Tax Credits: The U.S. Treasury said it will provide guidance on additional clean energy tax incentives before the end of 2023, including a provision aimed at deterring companies from relying on Chinese supply chains, Reuters reported.

3. United Kingdom - Wind Power Setback: A UK government auction for offshore wind failed to attract any bids, the latest sign of trouble in an industry that’s crucial to meeting net zero goals, Bloomberg said.
