Power management company Eaton and IES are partnering to assist customers with sustainable building strategies. The effort involves digital twin technology -- which allow customers to see and analyze a 3D digital representation of their buildings and supporting infrastructure.
According to the joint press announcement:
- IES "integrates a physics simulation with the 3D model, along with real-time operational data, machine learning and AI to provide unique insights about each building," the companies said.
- Those insights are combined with Eaton's power management expertise to "develop strategies to reduce CO2 in buildings, improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs."
The partnership aligns with Buildings as a Grid -- Eaton's method of transforming buildings into energy hubs that support electric vehicle charging and renewable energy generation. Real estate owners and tenants gain lower energy bills while also reducing each structure's carbon footprint.
