Sustainability and Green Technology Job Training Programs: What's Available?

Demand for green jobs in the United States has grown roughly 50% since 2019, according to Lightcast.

In response, multiple companies and organizations have launched green technology job training initiatives. Here's a sampling of sustainability job training programs, and the organizations behind them:

• October 2023: EY and Microsoft launched the Green Skills Passport program -- which helps "learners aged 16 and over develop skills to find green jobs and pursue opportunities in the growing green economy," the two companies said.
• October 2023: Goodwill and Accenture launched the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator, which will "teach employability and technical skills for jobs involving solar and storage, electric vehicle charging, heat pumps and energy efficiency," the two companies said.
• September 2023. The White House unveiled the American Climate Corps., a new "workforce training and service initiative." Progressives welcomed the news, but conservatives believe the program represents excessive spending that circumvented congressional approval.
