January 31, 2024 by Joe Panettieri

Diamond specialist SRK (Shree Ramkrishna Exports) has expanded Nirav Mandir's position from chief human capital officer to also include chief sustainability officer (CSO).

SRK, founded in 1964, is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The diamond exporter, backed by roughly 5,000 employees, has an annual production capacity of 720,000 carats, according to the company website. Annual revenue is more than US$1.8 billion.

SRK claims to be the first diamond crafting company in the world to commit to Science Based Target Initiatives (SBTi). That includes committing to achieve net zero at SRK's two diamond crafting buildings by 2024.

Mandir (pictured, top of page) has been with SRK since 2008, according to his LinkedIn bio.

By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.

The bottom line: Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill those CSO customer needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
