Securitas has hired ADP veteran Njeri Nginyo as general counsel, risk, and sustainability officer, the physical security company announced. Here are four things to know about the Securitas business, and Nginyo's professional experience.
1. Business Scope and Scale: Securitas offers physical security protective services. The USA business unit has roughly 95,000 employees and 500 branch managers. The global Securitas AB company, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, employs over 370,000 people in 58 countries. The overall business offers such protective services as On-Site, Mobile, and Remote Guarding; Electronic Security, Fire & Safety, and Corporate Risk Management. Securitas issued a sustainability report for 2022, though we don't know if the company has issued an update since that time.
2. Executive Experience: Njeri Nginyo previously was VP and assist general counsel at ADP, the major payroll processing company. Her legal focus at ADP involved global sales and procurement businesses, including matters related to commercial/technology/strategic agreements; regulatory/compliance matters, litigation/disputes; and information security/data privacy issues, according to Nginyo's LinkedIn profile. Earlier in her career, Nginyo held associate-level posts at such legal firms as Greenberg Traurig and Debevoise & Plimpton.
3. New Role: At Securitas, Nginyo will oversee the alignment of legal and risk frameworks to support strategic growth while embedding sustainability into operational practices, the company said.
4. Executive Perspectives: In a prepared statement about joining Securitas, Nginyo said: “I am inspired by Securitas’ commitment to making the world a safer place while fostering a culture of inclusion and transformation. This role offers the unique opportunity to integrate legal, risk management and sustainability into every layer of the organization, creating long-term value for clients and employees alike. Securitas is at an exciting point in its 90-year legacy, undergoing a thoughtful transformation with a forward-looking vision. I am thrilled to contribute to this journey and help shape the next chapter of the company’s impact.
Chief Sustainability Officers: Why Technology Partners Should Care
By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.
The bottom line: Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill those CSO customer needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
