Mahindra Logistics Chief Sustainability Officer Swayantani Ghosh: 3 Things to Know

November 15, 2023 by Joe Panettieri

Mahindra Logistics has hired Technip Energies veteran Swayantani Ghosh as chief sustainability & CSR officer.

Here are three things to know about Ghosh's experience and Mahindra Logistics' sustainability strategy.

1. Business Scope and Scale: Mahindra Logistics, based in Mumbai, positions itself as one of India's largest integrated logistics and mobility solutions providers. Know as a 3PL (third-party logistics) provider, the company helps customers to manage their supply chains -- from pre-production, production, and storage to distribution processes. Mahindra Logistics also offers transport network services -- such as multi-modal and last-mile delivery solutions. The company has roughly 24,000 employees.

2. Sustainability Strategy: Mahindra Logistics is striving to be carbon neutral by 2040. The journey towards that goal leverages solar-powered warehouses; electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and EV fleets; green facilities that are LEED certified; and various circularity steps that drive down water consumption.

3. Swayantani Ghosh's Experience: Ghosh has 18 years of experience in strategizing sustainability and CSR initiatives, ESG reporting, stakeholder communications and change management in relation to non- financial parameters, Mahindra Logistics asserts. That experience spans sustainability initiatives across India, the United States, United Kingdom, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions.

In her previous stint at Technip Energies, Mahindra Logistics says, Ghosh "spearheaded the ESG and CSR team globally and was responsible for driving ESG materiality assessment with the participation internal and external stakeholders globally."

Mahindra Logistics Chief Sustainability Officer: Why Technology Partners Should Care

By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.

The bottom line: Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill those CSO customer needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
