Atlantic Aviation has hired John Redcay as chief commercial and sustainability officer. Redcay succeeds Brian Corbett, who is exiting the business.

Here are five things to know about Redcay's experience; the Atlantic Aviation emissions reduction strategy; along with sustainability challenges in the aerospace market.

1. Business Focus: Atlantic Aviation, based in Plano Texas, was founded in 1927. The company offers aircraft ground handling and flight hospitality services, including fueling and line services, hangar and ramp storage, modern executive terminals for passengers and crews, and more.

2. Sustainability Strategy and Milestones: Atlantic Aviation is committed to:

  • Achieving net zero carbon emissions (Scope 1 & 2);
  • empowering customers' sustainability goals (Scope 3); and
  • investing in the future of aviation -- including an energy transition.

4. Executive Perspectives: In a prepared statement about hiring Redcay, Atlantic Aviation CEO Jeff Foland said: "John is a performance-driven, seasoned executive with demonstrated success leading the commercial strategies of companies in the travel and transportation space. I was fortunate to work with John at Hertz Global Holdings and know he will be a terrific fit with our culture and values."

Added Redcay: “I am excited to join the Atlantic Aviation team to help support the growth of the premier network of fixed-base operations in North America. Atlantic Aviation also thanked former CSO Brian Corbett for his contributions to the company. Corbett previously was CEO of Ross Aviation, which Atlantic Aviation acquired in November 2021.

5. Aerospace - Carbon Reduction Concerns: Critics are calling on the aviation industry to accelerate their net zero efforts. Among the areas of concern: The International Council on Clean Transportation predicts the aviation industry will fall far short of its pledge to generate net zero carbon emissions by 2050, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Aerospace Chief Sustainability Officers: Why Technology Partners Should Care

By 2027, 25% of Global 2000 companies will have assigned a chief sustainability officer (CSO) responsible for meeting their organization’s ESG goals and making ESG-related IT purchasing decisions, according to IDC.

The bottom line: Technology partners need to extend their sales, marketing, engagement and support strategies to successfully fulfill those CSO needs, Sustainable Tech Partner believes.
