1. Facebook Data Center Strategy: Meta, parent of Facebook, has introduced Design for Sustainability -- "a set of technical design principles for new designs of IT hardware to reduce emissions and cost through reuse, extending useful life, and optimizing design."
2. Partnership - AI Data Centers: Nvidia is partnering with startup Firmus Technologies Ltd. to create a massive fleet of renewable energy-powered AI data centers across Australia, Bloomberg reported. The project could involve a total investment of A$73.3 billion by 2028, the report added. Firmus raised A$330 million in September 2025, with participation from Nvidia. 3. Partnership - Carbon Accounting Software: Diginex has launched diginexGHG, which leverages AI, machine learning, and data gathering to "generate precise corporate and product carbon footprints rapidly, delivering actionable insights for sustainable decision-making," the company said. The launch involves a partnership with Forward Earth.
4. Executive Leadership - Consulting: Anthesis has hired S&P Global veteran Michael Salvatico as APAC climate & nature client development director. Salvatico, based in Australia, will "play a key role in advancing Anthesis’ regional growth strategy, supporting clients across Asia Pacific to integrate climate and nature into business strategy, respond to evolving disclosure requirements, and accelerate their transition to net zero," the company said.
5. Research - ITAD Market Growth Forecast: The global IT assist disposition market (ITAD) will reach $31.58 billion in 2029, up from $19.13 billion in 2024, according to The Business Research Company. 1. M&A - Consulting: Menzies has acquired Grain Sustainability to expand its ESG services. Grain directors Christoph Geppert and Madelyn Postman, along with consultants Amber Harrison, Maria Angeles (M.A.) Martín León, and Mary Pearson, will join Richard Singleton, Menzies’ Head of Sustainability, at the firm’s flagship Gresham Street office in London. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
2. Accelerator: The Cox Cleantech Accelerator, a partnership between Cox Enterprises, gener8tor and the Georgia Cleantech Innovation Hub, announced a new cohort in July 2025. C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News
1. European Union Scales Back Sustainability Regulations: The European Union approved the Omnibus Act, which vastly scales back various sustainability requirements. Among the major changes: Only companies with over 1,000 employees, a turnover over €50 million, or a balance sheet over €25 million will remain beholden to CSRD (corporate sustainability reporting directive), removing 80% companies from complying with the regulation, Finextra reported.
