1. AI Data Centers and Net Zero Challenges: Meta, Google, Amazon and Microsoft disclosed that their carbon emissions rose 64%, 51%, 33% and 23% respectively in their latest climate filings compared to their benchmarks from before ChatGPT’s release, Bloomberg reported.

2. EV Charging Networks - Management Software: ChargePoint has released software that allows customers to manage any EV charging infrastructure, "from a single site to a global network, while ensuring seamless integration with evolving energy systems," the company said. Operators can "seamlessly onboard, monitor, and control chargers from different manufacturers, simplifying operations and maximizing network reliability," ChargePoint asserted.

3. Tesla AI: If you work on Tesla's AI teams, then 2026 will be the "hardest year" of your life, Tesla VP of AI Software Ashok Elluswamy said during an all-hands-on meeting in October, Business Insider reported. Related: Tesla's AI strategy explained

1. M&A - EV Charger Networks: JOLT has acquired Volta Media Network, an EV charging network, from Shell. The deal expands JOLT into the U.S. market. The company already has operations in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. JOLT specializes in EV charging and digital signage solutions.

2. Funding - Data Centers: Firmus Technologies, an Australian company backed by AI chipmaker Nvidia, raised US$327 million (A$500M) to build renewable energy-powered AI data centers across Australia, Seeking Alpha reported. Related: Nvidia sustainability strategy and channel partner implications

3. Private Equity and AI: Portions of the AI market are in a bubble, and others are "very much in a great, investable space," Vista Equity Partners CEO Robert Smith said at a Yahoo Finance Invest conference.

1. European Union - Weakened Regulations: Lawmakers in the European Parliament agreed to dramatic cuts to the EU’s sustainability reporting and due diligence laws, including significant reductions in the number of companies to be covered by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the elimination of the obligation for companies to prepare climate transition plans, ESG Today reported.
