Here is today’s sustainable IT services news, research and analysis -- written for technology partners, green IT service providers, CIOs, chief sustainability officers (CSOs) and climate accounting professionals.

A. Sustainable IT, Talent, Partnerships and Green Tech Alliances

1. Research - ESG Software Market Growth Forecast: The ESG software market will reach $2.7 billion by 2032, according to Global Market Insights Inc. That represents a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of more than 12%.

2. Managed EV Charging Services: Unibuss, a bus operator in Oslo, Norway, will leverage Siemens Depot360 Managed Services to monitor and optimize electric fleet and charging infrastructure. Unibuss, a subsidiary of Oslo's municipal transport company Sporveien AS, transports 70 million people annually across its 51 bus routes. The company operates roughly 260 electric buses. The managed services win surfaces roughly one month after Siemens announced plans to spin off its EV charging business.

3. Supply Chain Software: Workhorse Group Inc. will leverage Siemens Xcelerator software for supply chain optimization. Workhorse builds electric trucks for sustainable last mile delivery.

4. Energy Grid Solutions: Schneider Electric has unveiled new smart grid solutions at the Enlit Europe 2024 conference.

5. IT Asset Management (ITAM): Flexera is touting five steps IT departments can take to maintain greener, more efficient IT operations.

6. Software Partnership: Iveda and Data Management are partnering to "help minimize carbon emissions and maximize energy savings through IvedaEMS," the two companies said.

7. Climate Disclosure Tracking Tool: WTW has released the latest edition of its Climate Reporting Comparative Table. The table tracks climate-related financial disclosure requirements across key global jurisdictions.

8. Hospitality Services and Events: Marriott International has unveiled Connect Responsibly with Marriott Bonvoy Events. The initiative strives to help event planners "incorporate sustainability into their meetings and events at partner hotels."

9. Financial Industry Guidance: The Impact Disclosure Taskforce, co-chaired by J.P. Morgan and Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, has released voluntary Impact Disclosure Guidance.

10. Lawsuit: A film production company that helped make “Blade Runner 2049” has sued Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk for using an AI-generated image resembling a scene from the science fiction movie to market Tesla's new robotaxis, the Associated Press reported.

B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches

1. Research - Private Equity: Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has released its second annual Sustainability in Private Equity report. The data covers around 6,200 private companies held by more than 260 PE firms around the world.

2. Venture Capital: Avaana Capital has raised $135 million for its Avaana Climate and Sustainability Fund.

3. AI Investments: Apollo Global Management and SoftBank have held talks about creating a giant fund to invest in data centers, chip factories, and other AI projects, Semafor reported.

4. Funding - Energy as a Service: Redaptive has raised a $100 million equity investment from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments).

5. Funding - Energy Consumption Management: Measurable.energy, a UK tech company that designs and manufactures AI-powered plug sockets that reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions in offices by up to 50%, has raised £4 million in early stage funding. The Vertex Exploratory Fund and Clean Growth Fund co-led the round. Measurable.energy plans to pursue Series B funding in 2025.

1. Bermuda - Carbon Registry: The Bermuda Carbon Commission (BCC) launched at the Green Overseas Climate Finance Forum. The BCC will serve as Bermuda's official carbon registry, leading the certification of carbon credits through innovative nature-based solutions such as seagrass restoration, floating solar, mangrove restoration, and coral reef protection, the announcement said.

2. India - Smartphones and Circular Economy: Keep an eye on CashforPhone, which buys, sells and repairs phones.
