1. Research - Net Zero 20 Years Too Late?: Nearly half of energy and natural resources executives now expect the world to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070 or later, a Bain and Company survey found, according to The Wall Street Journal.
2. Partnership - AI Software and Climate Tech Startups: You.com and Sustainable Ventures are partnering to provide AI tools to over 800 climate tech startups and scaleups, the companies said.
3. Partnership - AI and Home Energy Management: Carrier Global and Google Cloud are partnering to "create intelligent, connected solutions for residential HVAC energy customers," the two companies said. The result: Carrier and Google Cloud are striving to deliver a smarter, more efficient and AI-powered energy ecosystem that benefits homeowners and supports the next generation of technology infrastructure, the firms added.
4. IT Services: Global IT consulting firm CGI has earned the Sustainable IT label - Level 2 (Numérique Responsible - NR). The designation covers CGI's operations in France as well as Luxembourg, Morocco, Romania and Switzerland, the company said.
5. Supply Chain Management: Assent has launched Assent Sustainability Platform (ASP), a supply chain management software platform focused on sustainability.
6. Solar Laptop:  Lenovo has designed a laptop that runs on solar energy, Laptop Magazine reported.
7. Hospitality Services: BeCause, a provider of sustainability data management for the global hospitality and tourism sectors, has introduced Certification Co-Pilot. The tool is "designed to streamline the eco-certification process for hotels and certifiers," BeCause said.
8. Smartphone Privacy Leak: Fairphone, known for its sustainable smartphone focus, accidentally revealed personal information of beta testers, Phone Arena reported.
9. Talent: Morningstar Sustainalytics has hired David Pagliaro as chief strategy & product officer. He reports to Ron Bundy, CEO of Morningstar Indexes and Sustainalytics, the company said. Morningstar Sustainalytics is an independent ESG and corporate governance research, ratings and analytics firm. Pagliaro previously held key posts at Risk Global at Infopro Digital, State Street and S&P Global.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Data Centers: Private equity firm Partners Group is acquiring GreenSquare Data Centers of Australia. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Partners Group plans to invest "up to AUD 1.2 billion to transform GreenSquareDC into a next-generation data center platform," the buyer said. GreenSquare focuses extensively on sustainable IT services. Partners Group, meanwhile, has extensive experience owning and building data center provides. Examples include EdgeCore in the United States and atNorth in the Nordics.

1. United States - Google Breakup Proposal: Google can retain existing investments in AI startups like Anthropic, but would be required to notify antitrust enforcers before investing in any more AI companies, according to a revised Justice Department proposal involving antitrust case over search engine services, Bloomberg reported.
2. United States - U.N. Climate Change Fund: The United States has withdrawn from the board of the U.N.'s climate damage fund, which helps poor and vulnerable nations cope with climate change-fueled disasters, Reuter reported.
