Accenture and Planet Labs are partnering to leverage satellite imagery data for sustainability applications. Their combined work will focus on data-based climate risk assessments to reduce supply chain disruption risks, the two companies said.

Accenture, based in Dublin, Ireland, is a global IT consulting firm. The company has more than 721,000 employees in over 120 countries. See more details about Accenture’s broader sustainability initiatives here.

Planet Labs, founded in 2010 by three NASA scientists, has 1,082 employees listed on LinkedIn. The company provides global, daily satellite imagery and geospatial solutions. Planet Labs, based in San Francisco, California, captures over 30 terabytes of data per day. That data allows customers to focus on energy transformation, sustainable agriculture, sustainable commodity sourcing and end-to-end supply chain tracking, Planet Labs asserts.
