Delivery Hero Names Chief People & Sustainability Officer: 3 Things to Know

Local delivery and e-commerce platform provider Delivery Hero has promoted Ana Mitrasevic (pictured above) to chief people & sustainability officer. Mitrasevic joined the company in November 2021 as senior VP of people and Sustainability.

Here are three things to know about the announcement:

1. Delivery Hero Business Focus and Scale: Delivery Hero, based in Berlin, Germany, started as a food delivery service in 2011. The company now aims to deliver groceries and household goods to customers in under one hour and often in 20 to 30 minutes. Delivery Hero -- backed by 53,000 employees -- operates the local delivery platform service across 70 countries spanning Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa.

2. Sustainability Strategy: Delivery Hero pledged to become carbon neutral globally by the end of 2021. The company in July 2021 launched a global Sustainable Packaging Program. And by July 2022, Delivery Hero joined the UN Global Compact Initiative -- a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. 3. Executive Perspectives: In a prepared statement about Mitrasevic's new role, Delivery Hero CEO and Co-founder Niklas Östberg said: “Ana joined us at one of the most challenging times for both our industry as well as us as a company, and led us through many changes with empathy and dedication to our culture. Her fierce determination and unwavering focus on our organization have been an inspiration to us all. I am proud to have her on my team and I know that she will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in her new role.”

4.
