Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has named Mohamed Kadhem Ebrahim as chief strategy & sustainability officer.
Here are three things to know about the news:
1. BisB's Business History and Focus: BisB, which launched in 1979, was the first Islamic commercial bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bank operates under the supervision and the regulatory framework of the Central Bank of Bahrain. BisB outlined a three-year sustainability roadmap in October 2021. We could not track down specific details about that roadmap, or associated milestones since the 2021 announcement.
2. Mohamed Kadhem Ebrahim's Business & Entrepreneurial Experience: Ebrahim previously was head of enterprise projects at the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), managing consultant of the Partner Group, and senior consultant of culture transformation at Gallup in California. Ebrahim also co-founded AlRawi, an app that transforms traditional books into audiobooks narrated by the authors themselves or professional narrators.
3. Education and Certifications: Ebrahim is certified change management practitioner from Prosci, a certified strengths coach from Gallup, and a certified project management professional from PMI. He holds an MBA in Business Strategy and Operations from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the United States of America, as well as a Bachelor’s in Business and Information Systems, a program offered by the University of Bahrain in partnership with the Murray State University in the United States of America.
