Sustainable IT Services News for Channel Partners and MSPs: 01 October 2025

A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Certification: SBTi is promoting a certification to grow the market for sustainability experts. Moreover, an associated database allows businesses and organizations to search for SBTi certified experts.

2. Partnerships - AI Infrastructure and Stargate Project: Samsung and SK are joining OpenAI's Stargate initiative -- essentially helping OpenAI to build out data center infrastructure in Korea. Moreover, OpenAI and the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) will "evaluate opportunities for building AI data centers outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area, supporting balanced regional economic growth and job creation across the country," the organizations said. Existing Stargate partners include Oracle and SoftBank, among others.

3. Partnership - Financial Services: Diginex Limited Partners and iNeed are partnering to simplify sustainability reporting for Indonesia's rural banks. iNEED will pay Diginex approximately US$1.7 million upfront, along with a revenue share structure.

4. Partnership - Industrial Parks: DCarbon, a consulting firm, will assist Industrial Development Group (IDG) with sustainability initiatives across IDG’s industrial parks in Egypt, the companies said.

5. Research - Carbon Footprint Management Market: The Carbon Footprint Management Market is expected to reach $103.4 billion by 2034, up from $13.8 billion in 2024, according to Global Insight Services. That's a 22.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Related: Sustainability market research list.

6. Executive Leadership: CBRE has hired Emitwise and WSP veteran Tom Wood as global net zero sustainability lead. Wood will provide full-time support to CBRE client Fidelity International.

7. EV Charger Networks: Toyota Motor plans to install more high-speed chargers for electric cars at dealerships in Japan -- but the pace of installations falls far short of earlier Toyota deployment plans, Bloomberg reported.

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. Accelerator: The Company Lab (CO.LAB), an accelerator in Chattanooga, Tennessee, announced its latest Sustainable Mobility Accelerator cohort in September 2025. The six-week program is "designed to propel startups shaping the future-forward movement of goods, people, energy, and data." The Fall 2025 cohort includes:

2. Funding - Cloud Computing: GreenShift of Amsterdam has raised €2.35 million in a Convertible Loan Agreement (CLA) round. The company positions itself as "the operating system for sustainable cloud computing." The company is not to be confused with greenshift (a hosting provider in France) or Greenshift (an e-mobility and cleantech advisor in Los Angeles).

3. Funding - Marketing Automation: Climaty AI of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has raised $2 million to expand its carbon-conscious marketing solutions, which are powered by Agentic AI. Positioned as a Climate, Marketing and Technology (CliMarTech) platform, Climaty AI powers advertising and marketing campaigns that "perform at scale while aligning with sustainability," the company asserts. Founder Neel Pandya previously led Pixis.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. United States - Nuclear Energy Spending Forecast: Soaring demand for electricity will drive a $350 billion nuclear spending boom in the United States, boosting output from reactors by 63% by 2050, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

2. United States - Data Centers and Energy Costs: Electricity now costs as much as 267% more for a single month than it did five years ago in areas located near significant data center activity, according to Bloomberg.
