1. IT Services and Agriculture: NTT Data is touting generative AI capabilities as a way for communication service providers (CSPs) to support agriculture companies. Related: NTT Data's sustainable IT services strategy.
2. Consulting: JLL formed an Energy Advisory and Sustainability practice, led by Josephine Tucker. The team "works across JLL’s business lines and industries to serve real estate investors and commercial and public sector clients," JLL said.
3. Software - Renewable Energy Projects: Peloton has introduced software that "addresses the complexities of land agreement management for solar, wind, utilities, mining, geothermal, and carbon capture projects." Peloton's LandView and Peloton Map software run on Microsoft Azure.
4. Partnership - Quantum Computing: The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and ASPIRE, both part of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), are partnering with ADNOC to "tackle critical challenges in carbon storage monitoring and battery optimization using quantum technology," the organizations said.
5. Partnership - Data Center Energy Supplies: Oklo and RPower are partnering to promote natural gas generators and nuclear power for data centers, the two companies said.
6. Nuclear Energy - Small Modular Reactors (SMRs): Duke Energy is participating in a multi-joint public-private application for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) U.S. Gen III+ SMR technology grant. 7. AI Chip Revenues: Nvidia's Blackwell revenue could reach $9 billion in Q4, according to UBS Analyst Timothy Arcuri, SeekingAlpha reported. Related: Nvidia's sustainable IT strategy.
8. AI Channel Chief: Character.AI has hired Snap veteran David Brinker as senior VP of partnerships. Brinker will build the AI company's partner ecosystem with media and entertainment companies and creators; tech companies and platforms; and consumer brands, the company said. The hire comes as Character.AI also defends itself against an AI lawsuit.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Startup Funding - CSRD Compliance Software: Engyon, which develops software that automates CSRD audits, has raised €1 million in a seed funding round led by the Graduate Entrepreneur Fund, EU Startups reported.
2. Startup Funding - Energy Management Software: Ecoplanet, which develops an energy orchestration software layer for businesses, has raised €16 million Series A funding. EQT Ventures led the round, with continued support from HV Capital and additional investors.
3. Private Equity - Middle East Data Centers: KKR has acquired a stake in Gulf Data Hub, a major data center company in the Middle East.
4. M&A - Smart Buildings: Johnson Controls has acquired Webeasy, a developer of building automation and controls technology, FM Industry reported. We have not independently confirmed the report.
5. M&A - Sustainable IT Services: Fruggr has acquired CarbonScore in a bid to "improve sustainable and inclusive IT performance by transforming digital practices and engaging all employees in the process," the two companies said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. COP30 President:Â Brazil is expected to announce ambassador Andre Correa do Lago as president of the 2025 COP30 global climate summit in the Amazonian city of Belem, Reuters reported.

3. United States - Financial Services Policy: The U.S. Federal Reserve exited the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) just ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's inaugural, Barron's reported. The NGFS currently includes more than 100 major central banks and regulatory authorities from more than 90 countries, Barron's said, including the People's Bank of China and the European Central Bank.
