1. Cloud Services - Building Energy Management: In an expansive blog, Amazon executives explain how how organizations can "use Amazon Web Services (AWS) services to optimize energy consumption in their buildings."
2. Partnership - AI and Cloud Services: C3 AI and Microsoft are partnering to "accelerate the adoption of Enterprise AI on Microsoft Azure," the two companies said. Customers will gain solutions for supply chain optimization, production optimization, predictive maintenance, government efficiency, ESG goal attainment, and energy management, C3 AI CEO Thomas M. 3. Partnership - IT Services and Smart Cities: L&T Technology Services and the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance (CSCA) plan to partner on projects across the state of Colorado. Key focus areas include smart transportation, intelligent infrastructure, energy management, and data-driven city services, the organizations said.
4. Partnership - AI and Quantum Processors: Nvidia and Google are partnering to design quantum artificial intelligence processors. Related: Nvidia AI processor energy efficiency and sustainability strategy.
5. ROI - Energy Management Software: AFL Global, a telecom and fiber optic company, is leveraging EnergyCAP software to automated the management of nearly two-hundred utility accounts. The result: AFL Global expects to reduce annual energy and utility costs by roughly $304,000.
6. Partnership - EV Charger Network Expansion: EVgo and Meijer, a Midwest grocery retailer, have expanded their existing partnership. The strategy: EVgo plans to deploy up to 480 new public fast charging stalls at Meijer properties across Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, the companies said.
7. Partnership - EV Charger Network Capabilities: Hubject and ChargePoint are partnering to improve ChargePoint's EV charger network and the associated customer experience. Hubject's technology provides "standardized access to a charging infrastructure regardless of any network."
8. EV Charging Network Expansion: Pod Point claims to be the first company to install more than 250,00 EV charger points in the United Kingdom. The company is striving to serve 1 million customers by 2030. PodPoint, previously known s Infracharge, was founded in 2009.
9. EV Battery Production Shortfall: Embattled green tech player Northvolt has missed some in-house targets and has curtailed production at its battery cells plant in northern Sweden, Reuters reported.
10. CEO - Financial Services: Sustainability Partners, a provider of sustainable infrastructure funding, has named Morgan Stanley veteran John Veech as CEO, effective December 1, 2024.
11. Executive Leadership - Renewable Energy: Solar tracker solutions provider ARRAY Technologies has hired Essentia Energia veteran Leonardo Serpa as general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Soltec Trackers veteran Héctor Sánchez as vice president of EMEA sales.
12. AI Lawsuit: The news agency ANI has sued OpenAI for using its “original news content” in an unauthorized manner, possibly becoming the first Indian publisher to drag an AI company to court for violating its intellectual property rights, the Hindustan Times reported.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. Investment - Green Technology Projects: ADIB is investing in DeepGreenX Group, and the two organizations plan to accelerate green projects worldwide. Their efforts will likely span green data centers and low-energy computing, small nuclear reactors, energy storage solutions, alternative fuel production like hydrogen, ammonia, alcohol, and natural gas, as well as virtual power grids and power grid equipment, the two companies said.
2. Private Equity - EV Charger Networks: Private equity deals in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure market reached $1.04 billion from January to mid-October 2024, nearing the $1.11 billion the sector received in full year 2023, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
3. M&A - Industrial Services: Apollo has acquired a majority stake in The State Group (TSG) from Blue Wolf Capital. TSG provides electrical, mechanical, robotics and automation services. The company's services allow customers to "optimize, reduce and decarbonize their energy use," Apollo said. Blue Wolf will maintain a minority stake in TSG. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

1. Global Compliance and Regulations: The Carrots & Sticks database now tracks 2,677 ESG and sustainability policies from 132 countries. The latest data indicates a continued trend favoring voluntary (‘carrots’) over mandatory measures (‘sticks’), the organization said.
2. United Kingdom - Free Carbon Tool: Greater Manchester businesses can now access a free tool designed to accurately measure their energy use and discover their biggest carbon impacts, a local organization said.
3. UAE - Smart Building Partnership: Siemens and the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure plan to deploy Siemens technology across 60 government buildings. The United Arab Emirates expects the deployments to reduce energy consumption by 27%.
