A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Green IT Alliances
1. Consulting - Responsible Sourcing: e& selected Accenture as a strategic partner for a responsible sourcing initiative. The e& initiative aims to "embed sustainability into the procurement function and align with its net zero targets and sustainability commitments," the companies announced.
2. OpenAI - Copyright Lawsuit: The New York Times filed a lawsuit against against OpenAI and Microsoft, the Associated Press reported. The lawsuit seeking to end OpenAI's practice of using New York Times content to train chatbots. The newspaper claims the AI training violates content copyrights.
3. Solar Energy Tax Credits: First Solar has inked two separate Tax Credit Transfer Agreements (TCTAs). The agreements call for First Solar to sell $500 million and up to $200 million, respectively, of 2023 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Advanced Manufacturing Production tax credits to Fiserv. First Solar's placement agent on the transactions is Citigroup Global Markets. The TCTAs are believed to be the first significant credit transfer of its kind in the solar manufacturing industry, First Solar asserted.
B. Sustainability M&A, Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Greece Solar Power Project: Greek developer PPC Renewables has acquired the 216MW Alexandroupoli offshore wind project off Greece, ReNews.biz reported.
2. M&A - Telecom and Solar Power: Belenos Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACEN, has acquired YMP Telecom Power Inc. and YMP Industrial Power Inc. Belenos Energy acquired the businesses to build and operate solar-powered solutions for telecommunication towers and commercial and industrial solar power solutions in the Philippines, the buyer said in a regulatory filing.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. United States - Wind Project Financing: A wind farm and transmission line billed as the largest clean energy project in US history has secured $11 billion in financing and started construction, Bloomberg reported. Pattern Energy Group has lined up financing for the 3.5 gigawatt SunZia wind farm in New Mexico and 550-mile transmission line carrying electricity to Arizona, the report said. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) acquired Pattern in 2020.
2. Spain - Nuclear Power Phaseout: Spain plans to close the country's nuclear plants by 2035 as it presented energy measures including extended deadlines for renewable projects and adjusted renewable auctions, Reuters reported.
3. China - Tesla and Energy Storage Batteries: Tesla plans to produce energy-storage batteries in China moved forward with a signing ceremony for the land acquisition for a new factory in Shanghai, the Associated Press reported.
