A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Open Data Center Hardware: Meta, parent of Facebook, continues to evangelize open hardware and AI-related tools to drive sustainability initiatives.

2. Partnership - Data Centers: Oracle's AI data centers will leverage VoltaGrid ultra-low-emissions infrastructure, supplied by Energy Transfer’s pipeline network, the companies said.

3. AI Data Center - Energy Supply Challenge: The Biden administration’s former top energy adviser, Amos Hochstein, warned that AI’s energy demand is at risk of outstripping supply, Semafor reported.

4. Advisors - Higher Education: Pranav Adani, Admiral James O. Ellis Jr., and Jay Rubenstein, have agreed to serve as advisors to Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy, which is part of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, the university said.

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. Business Expansion - Investor: Sustainable Ventures has launched a new climate tech hub in Manchester, United Kingdom, Insider Media reported. The space can host more than 100 businesses, and provides business advice and support services together with space and funding to help climate tech start ups to scale faster and create jobs in the region, the report said. Sustainable Ventures has a similar hub in London.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. COP30: Brazil will ask countries to quadruple the global use of “sustainable fuels”, including controversial biofuels, despite concerns from environmental experts. (Source: The Guardian)

2. Maritime Carbon Policy Delayed: The International Maritime Organization postponed a decision on adopting a charge on vessel emissions, following a proposal put forward by Saudi Arabia, Bloomberg reported. The United States has been pressuring the organization to delay or scrap the emissions plan.

3. United Kingdom - Talent: Britain announced a national plan to train and recruit hundreds of thousands of workers for industrial jobs amid growing demand in the clean energy sector, Reuters reported.

4. United Arab Emirates- IBM Partnership: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) has partnered with IBM to "leverage AI strategically to tackle environmental issues, improve food and water security, and meet Net Zero 2050 targets," the organizations said.

5. India Climate Strategy Costs: India will need as much as $21 trillion to achieve its climate goals and lift its population out of poverty, Bloomberg reported.
