A. Sustainable Technology & Talent Developments
1. New Corporate Sustainability Reports: Our database tracking corporate sustainability reports and associated Net Zero goals now spans more than 90 companies and organizations. Today's additions include Aquafil, Bloomnberg, Hawaiian Airlines, KeyCorp., Secure Energy Services and Sunnova Energy.
2. Research - Data Centers: Fully 75% of organizations will have implemented a data center infrastructure sustainability program by 2027, up from less than 5% in 2022, Gartner predicted.
3. Careers: Artificial intelligence and green energy will change nearly a quarter of global jobs by 2027, according to a World Economic Forum report, as recapped by Investopia.
4. UL Solutions: UL Solutions announced an ESG management portfolio for "building end-to-end enterprise sustainability data management programs with a particular focus on carbon and scope 3 emissions." The portfolio supports five use cases:
- Mobilize – Establish and optimize ESG programs.
- Measure – Implement robust systems for measuring ESG performance.
- Manage – Drive continuous improvement of ESG key performance indicators (KPI) and goals.
- Report – Streamline and enhance ESG disclosure and reporting.
- Assurance – Demonstrate independent verification of key ESG KPIs.
5. Tesla - Energy Storage Opportunity: Tesla's energy storage business has generated more than $1 billion in revenues over each of the past three quarters, and has grown 149% year over year, SeekingAlpha notes. Still, a separate report says Tesla's Solar Roof business is struggling.
6. Happy Anniversary - IT Asset Disposition (ITAD): Data Sales Co., an IT service provider that specializes in lease financing and ITAD, has completed its 50th year in business. The company is based in Burnsville, Minnesota.
B. Sustainability Partnerships, Alliances, M&A & Investments
1. Partnership - Supply Chain Management: CP and Vodafone have partnered to develop a framework that encourages suppliers to reduce their carbon footprints.
2. Funding: Xcel Energy has received a $20 million grant from Breakthrough Energy & Catalyst, which is backed by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Xcel will leverage the grant for renewable energy storage projects in Minnesota and Colorado.
3. M&A: Toyota Tsusho acquired an 85% stake in SB Energy Corp. Together, Toyota Tsusho and SBG will "explore collaborative efforts among their group companies in the renewable energy businesses, such as joint development of renewable energy, electric power supply and demand adjustment, and so on, aiming toward achieving Carbon Neutrality."

C. Regional and Global Sustainability News
1. United States - Combating Greenwashing The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will weigh major changes for the first time in a decade to its Green Guides, a set of standards for companies making environmental claims, as it sifts through thousands of comments it received on the topic, Reuters reported. Among the goals: Eliminate so-called greenwashing claims.
2. Bermuda: Global Atlantic Financial Group has launched a foundation in Bermuda to help the island promote economic development, education and environmental sustainability initiatives. The initial seed investment is $1 million.
