Sustainable IT Services News for MSPs and Channel Partners: 10 September 2025

A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. Compliance Software: Workiva continues to sharpen its software focus on chief financial officers, departments of finance and sustainability reams. At the company's Amplify conference for partners and customers, Workiva described new software capabilities that "allow finance, GRC, and sustainability teams to streamline complex workflows, proactively manage risk, and deliver insights with speed and confidence," the firm asserted.

2. Managed Services: Schneider Electric has launched EcoCare Advanced+, a family of managed services that includes 24/7 remote monitoring, AI-driven insights, and proactive service.

3. Partnership - MSP and IT Networks: Cisco and NTT Data are touting IT services that help customers meet energy efficiency, resilience and environmental responsibility goals.

4. Partnership - Data Center Infrastructure: Compass Datacenters and Schneider Electric have jointly engineered a pre-fabricated, modular solution for data center end-to-end space optimization (white space fit-out), the companies said.

5. Partnership - Consulting and Software: Forvis Mazars and EcoOnline are partnering to promote and deploy environmental, social, and governance (ESG) software to customers in Singapore.

6. Partnership - EV Charger Networks: Blink Charging has joined Paua platform, an aggregator of EV charging for fleets and businesses in the United Kingdom. Blink’s network adds 850 public charging locations and around 3,500 connectors to the Paua platform. The Paua network now spans more than 67,000 EV charger connectors.

7. Partnership - Data Management: Avalara and Kellogg College at the University of Oxford are researching how businesses can "tap into their transaction data to enhance the accuracy and credibility of carbon emissions and other reporting," the two organizations said.

8. Partnership - Energy Storage Research: Salt River Project (SRP) and Google are partnering to research real-world performance of emerging non-lithium ion long duration energy storage (LDES) technologies.

9. Partnership - Networks: AT&T and Ericsson are partnering on a $14 billion network modernization initiative to "meet the telecommunications industry’s growing data demands and support energy efficiency goals," the companies said.

10. Dropping SBTi: Insurance giant Swiss Re will no longer pursue Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation, although Swiss Re's net zero goals remain unchanged, ESG Today reported.

11. Data Center Energy Storage: Hithium has launched an AI data center energy storage solution at the RE+ 2025 conference. The energy system allows data centers to align green transitions with long-duration energy storage, Hitium asserted.

12. AI Challenges: IT consulting companies are struggling to fulfill their AI promises to customers, The Wall Street Journal reported.

13. Executive Leadership - Supply Chains: Vanessa Miler-Fels will become Schneider Electric's new senior VP for Global Supply Chain (GSC) Safety, Environment, Real Estate and Sustainability as of October 1, 2025. She succeeds Piao Jin, who shifts to senior VP for the GSC East Asia Industrial Cluster, Supply Chain Digital reported.

14. Chief Sustainability Officer Hired: Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, has hired Devi Ramkissoon as CSO.

15. Chief Sustainability Officer Exit: Nike Chief Sustainability Officer Jaycee Pribulsky has exited the athletic footwear and apparel giant for an "incredible opportunity back in New York," she disclosed.

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. Accelerator: Romania ClimAccelerator has selected 25 startups for its 2025 accelerator, which runs from September to November.

2. M&A - E-Waste Reduction Services: Altered Capital of Aukland, New Zealand, has acquired e-waste recovery and recycling company Echo Tech, previously known as Computer Recycling through 2024 or so. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Altered Capital now owns 75% of Echo Tech, NBR reported.

3. Financing - Data Center: EcoDataCenter of Sweden has secured 600 million euros ($703.5 million) in debt financing from Deutsche Bank to expand its AI data centers, Reuters reported.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. U.S. vs. European Union: At a conference in Paris, Paul Atkins, chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, said various European ESG laws could impose costs on investors and called on European authorities to focus on promoting free enterprise instead, Reuters reported.
