Sustainable IT Services News for Channel Partners and MSPs: 04 September 2025

A. Sustainable IT Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and Strategies

1. ServiceNow Software Integration: Socialsuite's sustainability risk management software now integrates with ServiceNow. The integration involves ServiceNow's enterprise ESG and risk management capabilities and Socialsuite's AI-powered double materiality (financial and impact) and stakeholder engagement platform. The integration aims to "help organizations accelerate compliance and further automate sustainability workflows," Socialsuite said.

2. Net Zero Guidelines for Power Sector: The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) released an initial draft of its Power Sector Net-Zero Standard, ESG Today reported.

3. AI Product Design: Enterprises can leverage AI to enhance sustainability in product design and development, a joint report from Tech Mahindra and MIT Technology Review Insights asserts.

4. Data Center Infrastructure: AVAIO Digital Partners will leverage Schneider Electric's switchgear, PDUs, UPSs and chillers at four new AI-ready data center campuses across the United States, the two companies said.

5. Data Centers - Renewable Energy: BDx Data Centers and HEXA Renewables have partnered on a "cross-border renewable energy model that will contribute at least 50MW of clean power to the Singapore-Malaysia energy grid," the two companies said.

6. Partnership: Anthesis and Interpath are partnering to assist customers with environmental, social and business performance initiatives.

7. IT Distribution: Westcon-Comstor now sources 50% of its electricity globally from renewable sources, up from 42% in 2024. The distributor is striving to acvhieve 100% renewable electricity usage by 2030.

8. Executive Leadership: Optimum Energy has hired former solar executive and Boeing rocket scientist Erik Norwood as chief product officer. The company offers Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) to healthcare, higher education and advanced manufacturing, among other sectors.

9. EV Charging Networks: ChargePoint no longer expects to achieve break-even EBITDA results in 2025, the company disclosed during an earnings call, SeekingAlpha reported.

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. Leadership - Energy Investments: KKR, a leading global investment firm, has tapped former AWS CEO Adam Selipsky as a senior technology and AI strategy advisor to the firm. Selipsky's focus will include AI, data centers and energy.

2. Accelerator: Twenty-nine startups have joined the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI for Energy, the search giant said. Related: See more than 80 sustainability accelerators listed here.

3. Funding - Software: Neuberger Berman Capital Solutions (NBCS) has invested in sustainability software provider Sphera. The dollar figure and valuation terms were not disclosed. Private equity firm Blackstone remains Sphera's majority owner.

4. Venture Capitalists: These 15 venture capital firms are investing in sustainability startups across Europe, according to EU Startups.

5. Data Center Financing: Elea Data Centers, a sustainable data center provider in Brazil, has completed an issuance of around US$150 million (BRL 790 million) of sustainability-linked bonds (SLBs). The bonds are directly tied to Elea’s ESG goals, including improving its power usage effectiveness (PUE) and increasing female representation in leadership positions, the company said.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. COP30: The United Nations urged countries to set more ambitious climate plans during September 2025, seeking to pressure major economies including the European Union and China ahead of this year's U.N. climate summit. (Source: Reuters)

2. COP32 - Host Nation Debate: Ethiopia launched a bid to host the United Nations climate change summit in 2027 in the capital Addis Ababa, putting it in competition with Nigeria, which wants Lagos to play host. (Source: Reuters)

3. European Union - CSDDD Policy: More than 30 investor and human rights groups have signed a joint letter urging the European Commission and members of European Parliament to preserve the review clause of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive in the final text, ESG Dive reported.

4. Spain - Data Center Regulations: The Spanish Ministry for Ecologic Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has issued a draft policy that could impose strict energy efficiency and sustainability requirements on data centers in Spain, a report said.
