1. Chief Sustainability Officer: Colliers Canada has hired Triovest veteran Ali Hoss as head of sustainability and ESG.

2. Apple Watch - Not Carbon Neutral?: Apple can no longer advertise its Apple Watch as a "CO2-neutral product" in Germany, following a court ruling that upheld a complaint from environmentalists, finding that the U.S. tech company had misled consumers, Reuters reported. 3. Partnership - AI Data Center: Crusoe AI will expand its cloud capacity within atNorth’s ICE02 data center in Iceland. The expansion is "designed to meet the surging demand for Crusoe Cloud services from customers of all sizes across Europe and North America," the two companies said. atNorth data centers leverage renewable energy.

4. AI - Potential Revenue Share: Perplexity AI Inc. offering publishers a revenue-share plan as the AI company looks to deal with criticism and legal action from some media outlets over use of their work. (Source: Bloomberg)

5. AI Lawsuit: Elon Musk's xAI sued Apple and ChatGPT maker OpenAI in U.S. federal court in Texas, alleging they conspired to thwart AI competition. (Source: CNN)

B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches

1. IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) - No Private Equity Bid: Close the Loop, a major ITAD service provider, ny apparently was seeking a private equity bid in fiscal 2025, and the management focus "is now on achieving organic growth in FY26," the earnings presentation said. Close the Loop's revenue was $195.1 million in fiscal year 2025, down 6.7% from fiscal year 2024. Moreover, gross profit fell 26.1% to $58.3 million.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies, Regulations and News

1. United States - Renewable Energy Project Investments: U.S. investments in renewable energy projects plunged this year as developers responded to White House policy shifts targeting the sector. Investments fell by $20.5 billion, or 36%, in the first half of 2025 from the prior six months, according to BloombergNEF.

2. Singapore - Climate Reporting Delay: Singapore Exchange Ltd.’s regulatory arm is extending the timelines for climate reporting disclosures for some listed companies after businesses urged a delay to implementation, citing a lack of resources to meet the standards, Bloomberg reported.

3. China - Carbon Trading Market Policy: China will tighten its carbon trading market by introducing absolute emissions caps in some industries for the first time starting by 2027, Reuters reported.
