1. IT Distribution - Carbon Reduction: TD SYNNEX achieved its 2030 Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction target six years ahead of the expected timeframe, the distributor said.
2. Partnership - Advancing ClimateTech Startups: The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and Greentown Labs are partnering to assist Climate Tech startups. The partnership will include networking events, collaborative projects, investment opportunities for industry leaders, two-way mentorship, knowledge sharing, and resource exchange, the organizations said.
3. Partnership - Cloud Services and Nuclear Power: Google, partnering with Kairos Power, has selected Tennessee as the site of an advanced nuclear power plant that is expected to supply electricity to the Big Tech company's data centers in the U.S. southeast starting in 2030, Reuters reported.
4. Partnership - Data Centers and Renewable Energy: Facebook parent Meta has tapped Silicon Ranch, and Central Electric Power Cooperative to supply 100 megawatts (MWAC) of energy to Meta’s new data center in Aiken County, South Carolina. The data center will leverage 100% renewable energy.
5. Layoffs - Financial Services: Citi layoffs will include several executives from the company's Sustainable DCM Team, including Philip Brown, according to SSB Crack News.
6. Education - Research Center: Vanderbilt University has launched a Center for Sustainability, Energy and Climate to "advance research and partnerships."
B. Sustainable IT Investments, Funding, Earnings and Business Launches
1. Earnings - EV Charger Networks: Blink Charging revenue was $11.8 million in Q2 of 2025, up 46% from Q2 of 2024. The company acquired charging infrastructure company Zemetric in recent weeks. The improved results arrive after Blink Charging announced 20% layoffs in May 2025. The company did not mention any major partner initiatives during the earnings call.
2. M&A - IT Asset Disposition: SK Ecoplant plans to focus more intensely on ITAD and electronic waste recycling, while selling off its more traditional waste management and water treatment business to KKR for $1.2 billion, The Korean Economic Daily reported.
3. M&A - ITAD Services: PedalPoint, backed by Korea Zinc, has acquired acquired MDSi (Managed Data Systems International), an ITAD provider. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the buyout price likely was about $100 million, BusinessKorea reported.
