1. Partnership - ESG Software Deployment: Astellas Pharma is using IBM Envizi software for ESG reporting requirements. Global IT consulting firm Accenture and IBM Japan are involved in various deployment and support efforts.
2. Partnership - Cloud Services: Sourcemap and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud are partnering to provide a "centralized, automated, end-to-end workflow for managing multiple environmental compliance requirements, including EUDR, CSRD, CSDDD, and more," the companies said.
3. Integration - ESG Platform and Data Services: Through a new integration, Cority customers can leverage Arcadia data platform to simplify and improve sustainability reporting across large enterprises. Cority develops sustainability software. Arcadia develops utility data and energy management solutions.
4. Executive Updates: TDK updated various sustainability responsibilities for executive team members. The changes will activate in April 2025.
5. NVIDIA Earnings: Nvidia's revenue was $39.3 billion in Q3 of 2025, up 78% from Q3 of 2024. During the associated earnings call, the AI chipmaker did not mention sustainability or energy efficiency strategies for its ever-expanding product footprint. 6. AI Data Center Strategy: Meta, the parent of Facebook, is exploring locations for a potential $200 billion AI data center project, The Information reported. Potential campus locations could include Louisiana, Wyoming or Texas, the report suggested.
7. Partnership - Natural Gas for AI Data Centers: NRG Energy, GE Vernova and Kiewit are partnering to increase natural gas capacity for AI data centers.
B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches
1. M&A - Data Center Engineering: Kent has acquired Sudlows Consulting, a data center design and engineering firm that has offices in India, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Sudlows, founded in 2014, has completed more than 100 data center projects across 20 countries. Kent and Sudlows plan to advance "lower-carbon production methods, aligning with Kent’s broader sustainability commitments," the companies said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
2. Funding: CarbonQuest, a distributed carbon capture technology provider, has raised $20 million in funding, led by Riverbend Energy Group, with additional funding from two institutional investors.
C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News
1. European Union - CSRD Gets Watered Down: The European Commission announced an "Omnibus" package that will reduce sustainability reporting requirements in dramatic ways, ESG Today reported.
2. United States Ends Africa Power Assistance: The Trump administration ended a U.S. initiative to increase electricity supply in Africa, Bloomberg reported.
3. United Kingdom Net Zero Costs: The United Kingdom's cost of hitting net zero will be less than expected, according to the UK's Climate Change Committee, Bloomberg reported.
4. Denmark Climate Goals: Denmark remains on course to meet its 2030 target of slashing its territorial greenhouse gas emissions by 70% from 1990 levels, provided that the country delivers on its stated plans, Reuters reported.
5. China Climate Challenges: China needs to tackle its steel glut by cutting 15% of capacity 2025, if mills are to meet their 2025 climate goals and return to profitability, Bloomberg reported.
